Here’s how things went down this week:

-The show starts off with our first semi-final match in the 2011 Top Prospect Tournament!

2011 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT
SEMI-FINAL MATCH
KYLE O’REILLY vs. MICHAEL ELGIN (w/Truth Martini)

WINNER and advancing to the Finals: KYLE O’REILLY

-After the match, Steve Corino gives his two cents on the match that just took place. Corino says that O’Reilly is gonna win the tournament and that his money is on him! Great match!

-Back from break, we have a continuation of the top 5 greatest moments in ROH! In this video, we see the beginning of the “Era of Honor!” The clip shows a match from the glory days of ROH featuring Bryan Danielson (a.k.a. Daniel Bryan) vs. Low Ki (a.k.a. Kaval) vs. Christopher Daniels. This was the era of when ROH used to hold their matches in high school gyms. These are the glory days of ROH.

2011 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT
SEMI-FINAL MATCH
ANDY “RIGHT LEG” RIDGE vs. “THE PRODIGY” MIKE BENNETT

WINNER and advancing to the Finals: “THE PRODIGY” MIKE BENNETT

-After the match, we again hear from Steve Corino with his thoughts on the tournament. In the finals it will be KYLE O’REILLY vs. MIKE BENNETT! Corino tells everyone that he’s still on the high from the win from O’Reilly and that his money is still on O’Reilly to win. Bennett walks over and asks Corino if he forgot about him. He calls Corino an old man and tells him to sit down and leave the wrestling to him. Bennett ends the segment and tells Corino that he is gonna win the Top “Prodigy” Tournament.

-Back from break, we have another video in the top 5 greatest moments in ROH. In this video, we have a unified title match from 2005 featuring, yet again, Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuiness. This match unified the title belts in ROH. It was a brutal match which saw Bryan Danielson (a.k.a. Daniel Bryan) become the unified ROH world heavyweight champion.

-Backstage, Jim Cornette is with Davey Richards and Tony Kozina. Cornette tells everyone that on the program tonight will be an exhibition between the two guys. Cornette says that Richards brings such a unique wrestling style to ROH and also goes on to say that Richards has a next level training style. Cornette also says that both men train together in St Louis and tonight they are gonna show off their technique’s in an exhibition match. Richards gives his opinion on the match, says that it will be a friendly match because they respect each other. Richards also says that he is on the journey to become the best and the ROH world champ. Then, Tony Kozina gives his opinion on training with Richards and his thoughts on the match. The match will happen next week.

-Back from break, we have another video in the top 5 greatest moments in ROH/ In this video, we see the turning point in one of the greatest year long rivalries in pro wrestling between Kevin Steen and El Generico/ This clip was from Final Battle 2009 where Steen turned on El Generico after they lost their tag match against Max and Jeremy Buck (a.k.a. Generation Me). This feud lasted a year and ended with the brutal non-sanctioned match at Final Battle 2010.

MAIN EVENT

WINNER: RODERICK STRONG

FINAL THOUGHTS

-What a great show we had this week! I’m reminded each time I watch ROH, how much I love this company and the young stars that it produces. This week was the semi-finals in the 2011 Top Prospect Tournament.

-In the first match, we saw Kyle O’Reilly advance against a tough Michael Elgin. Elgin was my pick to win the tournament, but after tonight my opinion changed. Kyle O’Reilly is for real and he is definitely the future of ROH and professional wrestling. So, with that being said, I congratulate O’Reilly on his match and he’s definitely one to watch out for. This match was by far the best match of the night! Very entertaining all around.

-In match number two, we saw a different outcome. I don’t know whether to laugh or roll my eyes each time I see “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett. Tonight, he beat Andy “Right Leg” Ridge and never looked back. This man is so full of himself that he will have a true test next week against Kyle O’Reilly.

-It was nice to see Davey Richards back on ROH TV this week! Next week, we will see him back in the ring in what he calls a “friendly” exhibition match with a man that I’ve seen live in person, Tony Kozina. Richards, to me, is ROH and deserves to be the ROH World Champion one of these days. I love everything that Richards stands for and I can’t wait to be right there along for the ride on his way to the top of ROH. I believe Roderick Strong’s days are numbered as champion.

-Finally, the main event tonight was just ok, in my opinion. I’m not used to a 4 way match with tag rules. The match overall was a little boring at times. I was pulling for Generico to win, but in his cheating ways, Roderick Strong came out on top once again. I can’t wait to see Strong be dethroned as champion.

Next Week on ROH on HDNet:
-2011 TOP PROSPECT FINALS: Kyle O’Reilly vs. “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett
-Davey Richards vs. Tony Kozina
