Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s Ring of Honor Wrestling on Sinclair recap. If you all are ready, then let’s get to the show!

We see video highlighting what happened at the Defy or Deny II event last month in Milwaukee when Matt Hardy and Adam Cole got into it and Hardy stole Cole’s TV Title belt after laying him out with it. We then see Cole’s promo afterwards where he promised to rip Hardy limb from limb.

We see the usual intro, then Kevin Kelly & Caleb Seltzer welcome us to the show, from the Du Burns Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. We go right to the opening match.

The Flatliners (Burns & Asylum) vs. S.C.U.M. (“The Man Beast” Rhino & “The King of Old School” Steve Corino)

Corino & Burns have a shoving match as the bell sounds. Burns with right hands, then tags in Asylum. Burns with a corner whip, then sends Asylum into the corner, who hits a running shoulder to the ribs. Burns then follows up with a neckbreaker, then Asylum with a back senton splash. Corino reverses a corner whip and hits a chop, but it has no effect on Asylum. Corino with a slap, but still no effect. Corino off the ropes, but Asylum with a slam as he tags in Burns, who hits an elbow drop for a nearfall. Burns with an inverted atomic drop and a dropkick to Corino, but Rhino comes in and mows down Burns with a body block.

Tag to Rhino, who sends Burns into the corner and then rains in right hands to the gut. Rhino taunts the crowd before choking Burns. Rhino then chokes Burns with his boot before taunting the crowd. Tag to Corino, who hits a right hand to the ribs. Burns fights back, but Corino with a knee to the ribs, followed by the Colby Shock for a nearfall. Seltzer mentions that the Flatliners last appeared in ROH back in 2010 at Epic Encounter 3 against the original House of Truth, Christian Able & Josh Raymond. Corino with a shot to the kidneys, then tags in Rhino, who hits a double sledge to the back. Rhino with a pair of right hands, followed by a chop. Rhino with a corner whip, but runs into a back elbow by Burns. Burns then hits a clothesline and both men are down.

Tags to Corino & Asylum as Corino misses a clothesline and Asylum hits a high knee. Asylum with a whip, but Corino side steps the back drop attempt. Asylum avoids the discus lariat and the Flatliners hit a lungblower/German Suplex combo for a nearfall. Burns heads up top as the Flatliners set up another double team, but Rhino comes in and knocks Burns off the ropes and to the outside.

Corino then whips Asylum right into the Gore by Rhino and Corino makes the cover for the victory.

Winners: S.C.U.M. by pinfall (The Gore)

Corino jumps into Rhino’s arms for an embrace as they celebrate their victory as we go to commercial.

Commercial

Before we come back from commercial, Veda Scott does a hype promo for the 11th Anniversary iPPV replay with Charlie Haas. Haas says that the 11th Anniversary was a crock of crap and the match shouldn’t be seen by anyone.

Back from commercial, ROH match-maker Nigel McGuinness is in the ring. Nigel says that he knows Matt Hardy can hear him and that Hardy has been parading around with the TV title belt, so why don’t you come out here? Hardy comes out with the TV title in tow. Nigel says that he is tired of this and Hardy is acting like a child. Plain and simple, Hardy stole the belt in Milwaukee and now, either you give me the belt back or I’m gonna have somebody take it from you. Hardy says he took the belt because at Final Battle, I beat Adam Cole so I should be the TV Champion. Then, I defeated BJ Whitmer to remain undefeated and Adam Cole attacked me. I hit Cole with the belt to defend myself, then I took the belt because I wasn’t gonna leave it for that maniacal little prick to try and attack me, its self-defense 101. Hardy says that Nigel reprimands him because he doesn’t play by the rules, well then why don’t you reprimand Adam Cole? Oh, because he is one of your favorites. I’m not one of your favorites because you’re jealous of me. Nigel says why wouldn’t I be jealous? You had the career that someone like me always dreamed of, maybe though you’re jealous of me because I was one of the most tenured ROH champions in history. There was a time where I was one of the most critically-acclaimed pro wrestlers in this sport. This isn’t between you and me, its about that belt, so I’m gonna solve that. In 2 weeks’ time, on ROH TV, you will have a one-on-one match with Adam Cole. Hardy says that’s great, that’s all I was looking for and I don’t have any problem giving you back this title because now in 2 weeks, the wrestling icon Matt Hardy will officially be the ROH TV Champion. Nigel says hold on, I said you got your match, I didn’t say it was for the TV Title. Nigel says that yes, Hardy is undefeated, but he didn’t win with honor and that what this company is about. Next week, it will be a 4-Corner Survival between Hardy, Davey Richards, Roderick Strong & Michael Elgin and if you prove to me, because I will be out here on commentary, that you can fight with honor, then the following week against Adam Cole, the TV Title will be on the line. Hardy says he will do that next week but he hopes that Nigel keeps his word. I’ll prove I’m a man of my word, I hope you do the same.

Commercial

Back from commercial, “No Fear” Mike Mondo joins the commentary table for our next match.

We are supposed to have a match between Grizzly Redwood & Vinny Marseglia, but ROH World Champion Kevin Steen comes out. Steen tells Marseglia to get out of the ring, but Marseglia refuses. Steen asks if Marseglia is standing his ground and Marseglia nods yes. Steen says that he has guts and goes to shake his hand, but then drills him with the Package Piledriver. Steen says that Marseglia should have gotten out of the ring. Steen turns to Redwood and says sometimes opportunities come out of nowhere and you have to know when to take it as he puts down the ROH World Title belt in front of him. Steen says that he has reasons for what he is doing now, but if Redwood is up for it, Steen is giving him a match right now. Steen extends his hand and Redwood shakes his hand, but Steen kicks him in the gut as the bell sounds.

Ring of Honor World Champion “Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen vs. “The Littlest Lumberjack” Grizzly Redwood

Steen goes for the Package Piledriver, but Redwood slips out and hits a series of right hands, while ducking under attempted right hands by Steen. Redwood off the ropes, but Steen throws him up and sends him crashing to the mat. Steen charges and connects with the Cannonball in the corner on Redwood. Redwood tries to come back with a Tornado DDT, but Steen is too strong as he lifts up Redwood with the F-Cinq, but Redwood fights out and locks in a sleeper. Steen tries to fight out, but then drops backward with all his weight on top of Redwood. Steen hits a back senton splash, followed by a big chop. Steen chokes Redwood in the ropes, then stomps away at him. Redwood fights back with right hands, but Steen nails him with a short-arm clothesline. Steen heads up top and goes for the Steenton Bomb, but Redwood climbs up with Steen and hits some forearms. Redwood tries for a superplex, but Steen blocks it and then kisses Redwood, knocking him off the ropes. Steen goes for the Steenton Bomb, but Redwood gets the knees up. Steen misses a clothesline and Redwood with a back elbow, then this time hits a Tornado DDT, sending Steen rolling out to the outside. Redwood then with a head of steam and takes out Steen with a tope dive. Redwood goes onto the apron and tries for a crossbody, but Steen catches him in mid-air and drills him with a Fallaway Slam into the barricade. Steen then follows up with the powerbomb onto the apron.

Back in the ring, Steen lifts up Redwood and hits the F-Cinq for the victory.

Winner: “Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen by pinfall (F-Cinq)

Steen bows to the crowd after the match, but then in something that is unlike Kevin Steen, he helps Redwood to his feet before leaving as we go to commercial.

“Inside Ring of Honor”

The 1st topic is what transpired last week in the finals of the Top Prospect Tournament when Truth Martini influenced the finals and helped Matt Taven to victory over Tadarius Thomas after hitting Thomas with the Book of Truth. Taven, at first, didn’t want Martini’s help, but after Martini got in his ear, Taven shook Martini’s hand and we have a new member of the House of Truth. We go to comments from Martini.

Martini is juggling some meditation balls as he says its very arousing how things fall into place. When Matt Taven took advantage of an opportunity, I knew he has it, he has the Hoopla in his veins. Matt Taven, led by Truth Martini, we are a match made in heaven, or hell. The HOT, we are too hot for TV and as I stand here, with my book in my hand and my shiny, big balls in the other, I say to you this: Ladies, Gentlemen, hell everyone, stand back, relax, take your pants off because it is time to get off. Martini closes by doing his infamous laugh.

Our final topic is a look at the long-standing rivalry between The Briscoes & Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team in Ring of Honor before tonight’s main event for the ROH Tag Team Titles between the two teams where if Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team does not, they can no longer team in ROH. We see a video package narrated by the Briscoes as they go over their rivalry, from the 9th Anniversary, to Best in the World, to Final Battle 2011, to Border Wars where Haas used an ether-sprayed towel on Mark to beat the Briscoes for the Tag Titles. Jay & Mark promise that this will be the last time Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team teams in ROH as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial, its time for our main event.

Mark then off the apron, nails Benjamin with an elbow drop. Jay with right hands to Benjamin, then sends him into the barricade, not once, but twice. Mark with a headbutt to Haas, then holds him up so Jay can nail him with a boot. Haas is sent back into the ring as Mark grabs a chair, but the ref stops Mark from using it, allowing Haas to come back and connect with a release German Suplex. Haas gains a nearfall as we go to commercial.

Commercial

Back from commercial as Mark fights back on Benjamin. Mark off the ropes, but Benjamin catches him with a side slam for a nearfall. Benjamin sends Mark to the outside, then draws in Jay so that Haas can back suplex Mark onto the top of the barricade. Jay checks on Cheeseburger while Benjamin stomps away at Mark. Tag to Haas, who hits a right hand to Mark. Haas sends Mark into the corner and hits a series of right hands, followed by choking him with his boot. Jay knocks Haas off the apron and goes for a plancha, but Haas moves out of the way. Mark with a springboard, but Benjamin drills him in mid-air with a superkick for another close nearfall. Haas comes back in and says “that’s it”. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team hit Wrestling’s Greatest Finisher on Mark, but Jay pulls out the referee before he can count the 3. Jay then reverses a whip and sends Haas into the barricade. Benjamin goes for Paydirt on Mark, but Mark counters and spins Benjamin right into a superkick by Jay. Briscoes again call for the Doomsday Device, but Benjamin fights out and sends Jay into Mark, crotching Mark on the top turnbuckle. Benjamin then drills Jay with Paydirt. Then, all of a sudden, Haas comes in and hits HIS OWN PARTNER WITH THE OUTLAW SLAM!

Haas turns his back to the ring while Mark leaps off the top and hits the Froggy Bow on Benjamin to retain the titles.

Winners and STILL Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions : #DemBoys The Briscoes by pinfall (Froggy Bow)

Also, due to the pre-match stipulation, Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team can no longer team in Ring of Honor.

After the match, the Briscoes leave with their titles, albeit it in a state of confusion as Haas grabs the Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team shirt and rips it up into a million pieces before throwing it down on a fallen Benjamin and flipping him and the crowd off as we go to credits.
