Find out who the new WWE Universal Champion is; Champion vs. Champion match setup

Universal Champion

Brock Lesnar is once again WWE Universal Champion

It took five different F5’s, but Brock Lesnar is once again your WWE Universal Champion.

Lesnar defeated Braun Strowman earlier today at the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia to begin his second reign as Universal Champion in WWE.

The match itself only lasted three minutes and 16 seconds, bell to bell.

Roman Reigns had been originally scheduled to defend the Universal Title against Lesnar and Strowman in a triple threat match, but was forced to vacate the title after he revealed live on RAW that he is currently battling with leukemia.

Before the match started, Acting RAW General Manager Baron Corbin attacked Strowman and Lesnar immediately gave Strowman an F5 trying to end it early.

Excerpt courtesy of Mike Tedesco’s live Crown Jewel recap:

Lesnar gets to his feet and hits a second F5, but Strowman again kicks out. Lesnar cannot believe it. Lesnar hits a third F5, but Strowman kicks out. Lesnar is beside himself. Lesnar lifts Strowman up and hits an F5 over the top rope to the floor. Strowman gets in the ring before the count of nine. How can the championship be awarded by count-out? Lesnar stands over Strowman, who struggles to get to his feet. Lesnar lifts him for a fifth F5, but Strowman slides off. Lesnar boots him and hits a fifth F5 for the win.

WWE announced a new “Champion vs. Champion” match for Survivor Series on November 18 featuring WWE Champion AJ Styles vs. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
