Report: Brock Lesnar agreed to new deal with WWE shortly before Crown Jewel

Brock Lesnar, who recaptured the WWE Universal Championship last Friday at Crown Jewel, has reportedly agreed to terms on a new deal with the company.

According to an article by Dave Meltzer over at MMAFighting.com, Lesnar “secretly” agreed to a new deal with WWE shortly before Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia after receiving a new offer from Vince McMahon, shortly after Roman Reigns was forced to vacate the title.

The length of the deal, which was described as spanning “multiple shows”, has remained secretive. With Reigns positioned as WWE’s top guy and being forced to take time away due to a renewed battle with leukemia, Lesnar may stick around through next April.

Earlier this year in April, Lesnar agreed to terms on a new deal with WWE that was expected to run up following SummerSlam in August (that event saw Lesnar lose the Universal Championship to Reigns). Lesnar would make a surprise return to WWE during the Hell in a Cell PPV to setup his involvement at the Crown Jewel PPV.

What this means for Lesnar’s plans going forward with a potential return to the UFC remains to be seen. Just last weekend, UFC President Dana White indicated Lesnar remained in their plans to challenge Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Championship in 2019. Lesnar has continued to undergo USADA testing since July.

It should be noted that any agreements Lesnar has with WWE will allow him contractually to fight or make appearances for the UFC going forward.
