NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa set for surgery that will put him out for months

Tommaso Ciampa

In a follow up to a story reported last week, NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa will be undergoing surgery on his neck tomorrow (Thursday).

The story notes that Ciampa will undergo anterior cervical fusion surgery on his neck. According to Google, the recovery time for a surgery like that is three to six months.

This means major changes will be in store in the coming weeks regarding both the NXT Championship and Ciampa’s previous role on the main roster.

Ciampa had just start getting featured on the main roster in recent weeks, along with Johnny Gargano, Aleister Black and Ricochet in what was a sudden shift in presentation by WWE creative. Ciampa has held the NXT Championship since last July.
