We previously reported that Zachary Madsen, the man who tackled Bret Hart during the Hart Foundation’s 2019 Hall of Fame induction speech was scheduled to appear in court on Friday, however Madsen’s court appearance has now been delayed until May 28.

As of this report there is no official reason why Madsen’s court date was delayed.

Madsen has been charged with two counts of assault in the third degree for tackling Hart, as well as trespassing and interfering with a sporting event.

In New York assault in the third degree in an A misdemeanor and could be punishable with up to one year in jail per count.  If found guilty, Madsen could face up to one in year jail for each count of assault.
