Triple H on the August 31 date for NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff: “It has nothing to do with anybody else”

Triple H conference call

Following last night’s NXT TakeOver XXV event, Paul “Triple H” Levesque once again held a press conference for the media, which Wrestleview took part of.

Recognizing that there was some buzz about NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff taking place on August 31 this year, the same day as AEW All Out, Triple H had this to say:

“…I will just say this so that everybody in here contrary to I’m sure the buzz, the date of August 31 is a date we have had for a long time. That building has been booked with us in Cardiff long before WrestleMania. We just hadn’t announced because it wasn’t the right time. You want to announce something for a brand six months out, obviously I don’t the way I see it, but tonight was the right night to do it. It has nothing to do with anybody else and to be honest, we will take place live in primetime in the UK and in the afternoon here in the US. It is what it is.

“I’m really excited that the UK brand of NXT, I feel like it’s going back in time and kind of being at the beginning of what this was. You look at the talent that are there and the talent that are coming out of there is spectacular. I think that there’s a competition within the NXT header itself. When you talk about statements, I know that that UK brand in Cardiff on the 31st is going to be looking to make a statement as well. They’re going to walk out of that building in Cardiff and look across the pond over here and say, ‘Follow that.’ I would expect a statement to be made there as well.”
