Sami Zayn will again be partnering up with the Syrian American Medical Society in an effort to launch a mobile clinic in Syria “to bring medical aid to those in desperate need.”
Zayn began this fundraiser back in 2017. Last year, Zayn raised over $35,000 for SAMS and the mobile clinic in Syria. The mobile clinic has helped over 8,000 people since it was launched.
Zayn, who is of Syrian descent, will not be traveling to Saudi Arabia for this Friday’s WWE Super ShowDown event. Zayn has not appeared on any of the Saudi Arabia shows and has been left off these shows due to his ethnicity. Saudi Arabia has had a longstanding political issue with Syria.
It should be noted that Zayn has chosen Friday, June 7 at 2 p.m. Eastern as the kickoff for the fundraiser, the same exact time the main show for WWE Super ShowDown kicks off in Saudi Arabia.
