Shortly before the WWE Smackville event, it was announced that Finn Balor was suffering from an undisclosed injury and was not cleared for the event.
While WWE did not announce what the injury was, POST Wrestling reports that Balor is dealing with a “24-hour bug type situation.” Fightful also reported that it was diagnosed as stomach flu.
WWE is hopeful that Balor will be cleared to go on Tuesday for his advertised match against Dolph Ziggler on Smackdown Live.
Ali took Balor’s place against Shinsuke Nakamura at Smackville in a losing effort for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
