8/15 NXT TV Tapings:
The tapings opened with an in-ring segment with Undisputed Era. NXT Champion Adam Cole said if there was a Mount Rushmore of NXT, it wouldn’t include Johnny Gargano or any past champions – it would be his face four times.
Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish showed a video about how the illegal man was pinned in their Tag Team title match against The Street Profits at TakeOver: Toronto.
Jordan Myles them met Undisputed Era on the ramp and was holding his title match contract. Undisputed Era told him to challenge Shayna Baszler, a UK talent, or someone from 205 Live instead of Cole. Myles dropped the contract and smiled at them.
– Damian Priest defeated Mansoor with his Roll of the Dice finisher.
– Mia Yim defeated Vanessa Borne (w/ Aliyah).
Quick match before NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler’s music hit. The other Horsewomen crept to the far side of the ring. Baszler offered Yim a spot with them, but Yim took a swing at Jessamyn Duke. Baszler and Marina Shafir jumped in and gave Yim a beat down.
A video package was shown for Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic.
– Shane Thorne defeated Bronson Reed with a running knee.
There was a segment on the stage where North American Champion Velveteen Dream told Roderick Strong to be ready.
– Killian Dain defeated Matt Riddle after three Vader Bombs.
After the match Riddle chased down Dain and they broke through the back. It was shown on the video screen that Dain attacked Riddle with a ladder.
– Io Shirai defeated Cami Fields (Holidead).
Shirai had her way with Fields, which led to Candice LeRae running Shirai off with a kendo stick.
– Dominik Dijakovic defeated Keith Lee with his Feast Your Eyes finisher.
There was a standing ovation after the match.
An in-ring segment with Baszler was interrupted by Rhea Ripley, who got a huge reaction. Before Baszler could talk, Ripley took the mic and said “I already know what you’re going to say, that you’ve beaten everyone here, but you haven’t beaten me, bitch!” The crowd loved this and Ripley felt like a star.
– Breezango (Tyler Breeze & Fandango) defeated Chase Parker & Matt Martel.
Breezango had new music for this match against the former Team 3.0.
– Bianca Belair defeated Taynara with KoD.
– NXT Champion Adam Cole defeated Jordan Myles to retain the NXT Championship.
Myles was applauded off as he left.
– Damian Priest defeated Boa.
Johnny Gargano did an in-ring interview where he was about let the crowd know about his future, but he was interrupted by Shane Thorne. They went back and forth before Gargano put Thorne down with a superkick. Gargano then declared that he’s staying in NXT.
– NXT North American Champion Velveteen Dream defeated Kona Reeves.
On the video screen, Roderick Strong was shown setting Dream’s couch on fire.
– Pete Dunne defeated Angel Garza by submission.
– Cameron Grimes defeated Raul Mendoza with a running double foot stop.
– NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler defeated Rhea Ripley via disqualification.
Shafir and Duke brought a chair to the ring, with Ripley using it before Baszler could. The Horsewomen backed away after the match.
– The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish) defeated The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) to win the NXT Tag Team Championships.
O’Reilly & Fish hit Total Elimination to win the titles. The crowd celebrated with them and then chanted ‘Thank you Profits’ and wished them well if this is it for them in NXT.
