The final episode of WWE NXT in 2019 will feature two big championship matches. NXT will not air on Christmas Day.
On December 18, Adam Cole will be defending the NXT Championship against Finn Balor. Balor defeated Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa in a #1 Contender’s Triple Threat match on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT. Balor made his return to NXT in October after spending three years on Raw and SmackDown. Balor has vowed that his future will be his past.
We will also see Shayna Baszler defending the NXT Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley. Ripley pinned Baszler at NXT TakeOver: WarGames III in November and has been chasing the championship. Baszler has held the championship since October 2018 when she won it at WWE Evolution from Kairi Sane.
