Shad Gaspard’s remains recovered on Venice Beach, former WWE Superstar was 39

Shad Gaspard dead at 39

Days after disappearing in the Pacific Ocean after a riptide pulled him in, Shad Gaspard’s remains have washed up on Venice Beach. He was 39 years old.

This past Sunday, Gaspard was at Venice Beach with his family. He and his 10-year-old son were swimming when a riptide pulled them, along with other swimmers, out into the ocean. A rescue effort immediately went underway. Gaspard demanded lifeguards save his son first, which they did. As they went back for him, a large wave struck him and he was not seen again.

Divers and helicopters combed the area in search of Gaspard, but he was not located. The search effort was called off by the United States Coast Guard on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, a body matching the description of Shad Gaspard washed ashore near where he disappeared. The body was discovered by a citizen at 1:30 AM according to TMZ Sports. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office would later confirm officially that the remains are Shad Gaspard.

Gaspard was a member of the popular tag team Cryme Tyme. He was with WWE from 2006 to 2010, though he and his partner JTG were briefly released in 2007.

On behalf of the staff of Wrestleview, we send our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Shad Gaspard as they deal with this horrific and sudden loss.
