Former WWE Women’s Champion set to return to the company, full details inside

Former WWE star returning

Former WWE Women’s and Diva’s Champion Melina Perez is set to return to the company, according to a report by PWInsider.

She is rumored to be starting with the company within the next week.

Perez, 41, who had been working with the National Wrestling Alliance, was a free agent after that deal expired. She was rumored to be an entrant in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble, but the NWA contract prevented that at the time.

After being signed to a WWE developmental deal in 2004, she made her debut with the company in 2005 as the manager of MNM (Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury). After transitioning into a singles competitor the following year, she would become a 3-time Women’s Champion and a 2-time Diva’s Champion.

She was released by WWE in 2011 and began working on the independent circuit after taking a few years off. Aside from appearing on NWA Powerrr, she made a cameo on Raw Reunion in July 2019.
