WWE announces on Saturday the release of Bray Wyatt

WWE releases Bray Wyatt

WWE made a shocking announcement today stating they have released Bray Wyatt.

Wyatt has not appeared for WWE since WrestleMania 37.  According to PWInsider, the word internally had been that there was a “specific reason” he had not returned to WWE TV, and that it was not a creative reason.

F4WOnline is reporting Wyatt was told by John Laurinaitis his release was due to budget cuts, and that Wyatt was preparing to make his  return next month August and was booked on some shows.

The current Alexa Bliss character has been an extension of Bray Wyatt and “The Fiend” characters that are still being featured on WWE television.

Bray Wyatt, real name Windham Rotunda, first signed with WWE in 2009, and had the  name of Husky Harris.

WWE made the following announcement on their website and Twitter:

WWE has come to terms on the release of Bray Wyatt. We wish him the best in all his future endeavors.
