WWE spokesman responds to MSG event article

WWE spokesman Adam Hopkins responded to an article in Newsday.com by Alfonso Castillo defending the company’s decision to continue on with a Raw house show event on Sunday in New York City at Madison Square Garden despite a huge snowstorm.

“WWE tries its best not to let down our fans due to the weather. After weighing several factors and consulting with Madison Square Garden management, The Garden was in favor of us running the event as they have a good track record of doing so during inclement weather, rarely postponing them. Public transportation was running, and this is a show in which a significant amount of ticket holders live in the city. All top WWE Talent had made it in to New York for the event.”

It was also noted that the actual attendance for the event was 13,600 fans – not the estimated 15,000 stated earlier by Jim Ross. Hopkins added that the 13,600 attendance figure was more than those who attended the Islanders and Devils games combined.
