News and notes coming out of the WWE Royal Rumble from Saturday night; Attendance figure

According to PWInsider, Drew went above and beyond to try and make his return a surprise for fans. He arrived at the stadium late into the show and since the venue itself is so massive, several people in the company didn’t know he was present until he made his way to Gorilla position.

The Kofi Kingston elimination was said to be completely legitimate and accidental, as “gravity decided not to work with him.”

It was also noted that one person involved with the Royal Rumble said that the Men’s Rumble match plans changed “literally 20 times” over the course of the day prior to and during the event.  Furthermore, it was stated that the morale after the event was very down compared to most recent WWE events because as one talent – who commented under condition of anonymity said, “We were all in a whirlwind.  Just as you had your role and spots down, everything started over and over and now most of us were back to square one.  It changed again and again and again. It wasn’t an easy night even before we hit the ring.”

Xavier Woods and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle were backstage. Angle filmed content to air in future on Peacock WWE Network.

There were a lot of talents signing trading cards and also working on video game related content backstage before the show.

The official announced attendance for Saturday night’s Royal Rumble was 44,390.
