Peacock set for slight price increase next month

The cost to access WWE content and premium live events in the United States is set to increase next month.

According to Variety, for the first time since Peacock debuted in 2020, NBCUniversal is raising the monthly prices for its streaming service.

Starting at 12:00 am ET on Monday, NBCU will notify existing Peacock customers that their rates will be increasing starting next month.

Effective August 17, for existing users on their next billing cycle and immediately for new customers, the price of Peacock Premium (with ads) will increase by $1, from $4.99 to $5.99 per month, and Peacock Premium Plus (which is mostly commercial-free) will increase $2, from $9.99 to $11.99 per month.

The article also notes that as of the end of the first quarter for 2023, per Comcast, Peacock reached 22 million subscribers, which is up more than 60% year over year. Also, per Variety, Peacock said that with the price increase, it will be able to invest in content and the user experience while remaining competitive in the marketplace.
