Former WWE World Champion appears at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18

Before a match at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 18 on 1/4 was set to begin, former WWE star Nic Nemeth was seen heading to a ringside seat alongside his brother, Ryan.

The pair arrived in time to watch a bout between Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) and the Guerrillas of Destiny (El Phantasmo & Hikuleo) to unite the IWGP Tag Team and NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships.

Nic, who competed in WWE as Dolph Ziggler, was released from the company in September as part of a wave of talent cuts following the completion of the merger with UFC into TKO Group.

The former World Heavyweight Champion’s last match was on the May 29, 2023 edition of RAW against JD McDonagh, and has been advertised for upcoming events in Maryland and Puerto Rico.

Ryan, a current AEW star, last competed on AEW programming against Wardlow on the 10/28 edition of Dynamite, and has spent time in Ring of Honor as recently as the 11/4 edition of ROH on HonorClub.
