“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

A video kicks off the show highlighting what we’ll be seeing on night one of the NXT Great American Bash.

#1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match
Tegan Nox vs. Dakota Kai vs. Mia Yim vs. Candice LeRae

The bell rings, and all four women stare at each other. Yim goes after LeRae, who simply gets out of the ring. Kai gets out of the ring as well, leaving Nox and Yim. Yim and Nox lock up, and Yim applies a side headlock. Nox whips her off, but Yim shoulder blocks her down. Yim hits the ropes, but LeRae pulls her out and sends her headfirst into the ring steps. LeRae gets in the ring and squares off with Nox. Kai gets on the apron, so Nox punches her off the apron. LeRae rolls her up for a two count. Nox is furious with LeRae, so Kai attacks her from behind. Kai shoulders her and goes for a kick, but Nox drives her into the apron. LeRae hits the ropes for a suicide dive, but Yim dropkicks her away. Yim goes for a cannonball in the corner, but LeRae moves. LeRae elbows Yim in the corner before going to the apron and hitting Kai with a reverse STO! LeRae then hits Nox with a springboard plancha. LeRae goes to the top rope, but Yim cuts her off. LeRae slides down and tries to powerbomb Yim, but Yim holds on. LeRae then hits a German Suplex off the second rope for a near fall!

Kai lifts LeRae up, but Nox superkicks Kai, who also slams LeRae. Nox hits LeRae with a running forearm. Kai then knees LeRae, and Yim boots Kai. Yim and Nox then give LeRae a front suplex on Kai. Yim then hits LeRae with a codebreaker for the elimination!

Candice LeRae has been eliminated.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Yim and Nox forearming Kai. They send her to the corner. Yim hits a cannonball, and Nox hits a cannon-boar for a near fall. Nox and Yim cannot believe Kai kicked out. Yim and Nox turn on each other. Nox goes for a Chokeslam, but Yim gets out and punches her down. Nox charges, but Yim gets her out of the ring. Yim does… something and falls out of the ring. Kai hits Nox with a vicious sit-out slam. Yim gets in the ring and hits Kai with a dragon suplex. Yim hits Nox and Kai with running forearms before jumping off Kai and hitting Nox with a flying hurricanrana.

Yim gets them both out of the ring and hits a suicide dive on Nox. Yim then hits a suicide dive on Kai. Yim gets Kai in the ring and hits Code Blue for a near fall. Nox then rolls Yim up for a two count. Yim avoids a kick from Nox and hits Sole Food. Nox quickly falls out of the ring. Kai rolls Yim up with an O’Connor Roll for the elimination.

Mia Yim has been eliminated.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Kai and Nox trading punches. They continue throwing punches before collapsing in exhaustion. Kai superkicks Nox down, but Nox responds with a head-butt. Nox chops the chest a few times before hitting some clotheslines. Nox hits a pair of running back elbows on Kai in the corner. Nox hits a third one, and Kai collapses in the corner. Nox connects with a vicious cannon-boar before covering Kai for a near fall.

Kai charges, but Nox hits a nice fall-away slam with a bridge for a near fall. Nox cannot believe it. Nox goes to the top rope, but Kai kicks her in the head. Kai slams her off the top rope before hitting the Kai-ropractor for a near fall! Kai limps over to her former tag team partner, but Nox punches her back. Kai clubs her and hits some stomps. Kai lifts Nox, but Nox slides off and hits a sit-out front suplex for a near fall. Nox goes for the Shiniest Wizard, but Kai moves. Kai gets a crucifix pin for a near fall. Kai immediately goes to an octopus stretch, but Nox fights out of it. Nox head-butts her, and they’re both stunned. Nox goes to the top rope and hits a Molly-Go-Round. Nox follows up with a Shiniest Wizard for the win!

Winner by Pinfall: Tegan Nox

Tegan Nox will receive an NXT Women’s Championship opportunity against Io Shirai at a later date. Nox celebrates in the ring big time.

Damian Priest is being interviewed backstage about the rough few weeks he’s had. Priest challenges Cameron Grimes to a match one-on-one with no tricks or games. The beating will live forever.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Bayley are talking backstage.

Timothy Thatcher vs. Oney Lorcan

The bell rings, and Lorcan tackles Thatcher to the corner. Lorcan takes him down and chops the chest. Thatcher quickly applies a side headlock, but Lorcan fights off and hits a head-scissor. Thatcher fights out and applies a brutal bow and arrow stretch. Lorcan gets out and chops away at him before going for the arm. Lorcan goes for a short-arm scissor, but Thatcher rolls out for a two count. Lorcan puts the hold back on, but Thatcher gets out again. Lorcan powers him down and keeps the short-arm scissor applied. Thatcher applies a hold, but Lorcan gets out. Thatcher hits a judo throw followed by going for an arm bar. Thatcher pummels Lorcan for a two count. Thatcher takes him down and goes for a double wristlock. Lorcan fights out of it and hits a snapmare before applying a surfboard stretch. Thatcher is furious he got caught in his hold. Thatcher twists out, but Lorcan takes him down and drives the knee into the shoulder blades. Lorcan chops the chest a few times, but Thatcher reverses a whip to the corner. Lorcan elbows Thatcher in the face and goes to the second rope. Thatcher then uppercuts him off the ropes to the floor.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Thatcher applying a hammerlock to Lorcan. Lorcan fights up, but Thatcher hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Lorcan rolls out of the ring to recover. Thatcher attacks him getting on the apron and goes to suplex him into the ring, but Lorcan counters into a half-and-half suplex followed by an uppercut for a near fall. Thatcher quickly kicks him away, but Lorcan starts chopping away at him. Lorcan hits some uppercuts before Thatcher viciously slaps him. They both get fired up, and Lorcan punches away at Thatcher. Lorcan takes him down with two vicious slaps to the ear and applies a single leg crab. Thatcher fights out and applies a vicious submission to the knee. Lorcan gets out and chops the chest. Thatcher blocks one and viciously slaps him in the face. Thatcher hits a double underhook suplex for a near fall.

Thatcher tries to power Lorcan onto his stomach, but Lorcan fishhooks the mouth. Thatcher gets out and applies the Fujiwara Arm Bar. Lorcan has no choice but to tap out.

Winner by Submission: Timothy Thatcher

Thatcher cinches it in for a few moments after the conclusion of the match and psychotically smiles.

Video: Karrion Kross says there are individuals among them that are delusional. Kross says Father Time has different plans for the future. Scarlett says the plot is about to thicken. This brand’s identity will be defined by the suffering you endure. It’s not about the time you put in. It’s about the time you take away. Tick. Tock.

2-on-1 Handicap Match
Rhea Ripley vs. Aliyah and Robert Stone

If Rhea Ripley loses this match, she will have to join the Robert Stone Brand.

Robert Stone makes his entrance with some ridiculous boxing robe and looking pumped up.

It’ll be Robert Stone starting against Ripley. Ripley quickly punches him down after he does an Ali shuffle. Aliyah jumps on Ripley’s back and attacks. Aliyah hits a head-scissor takeover. Stone grabs Ripley in the corner, and Aliyah blasts her with a knee for a near fall. Ripley soon powers Aliyah up, turns her into the electric chair, and hits a big facebuster, but Stone breaks it up. Ripley angrily chases him out of the ring. Stone gets back in and goes for a plancha, but Ripley easily sidesteps him. Aliyah then comes flying off the apron with a facebuster on the floor.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Stone and Aliyah applying a Walls of Jericho/Crossface double submission, but she doesn’t give up. They let go and double-team Ripley with a suplex. Aliyah and Stone argue over who is going to cover Ripley. Aliyah picks up a two count. Stone says they need to be on the same page. They go for another double-team suplex, but Ripley suplexes them both simultaneously! Ripley throws Aliyah with a back body drop and nearly sends Stone into her. Ripley dropkicks Stone, kicks Aliyah, and sends her into Stone. Ripley hits a pair of short-arm clotheslines before driving her into Stone again. Stone is dazed. Ripley kicks Aliyah and gives her a facebuster into Stone’s groin! Stone screams in pain!

Ripley big boots Aliyah. Stone tries to sneak up and roll her up (while holding his… stones?), but Ripley takes him out. Ripley grabs both Stone and Aliyah and applies the Prism Trap. They both tap out!

Roderick Strong vs. Dexter Lumis

This is the first ever Strap Match in NXT history.

The referee tries to put the strap on Strong’s wrist to start the match, but he’s too nervous and freaked out to start. Strong then blindsides Lumis and shouts that he’s not scared of Lumis. Lumis gets up and punches away at Strong. Lumis then puts the strap around Strong’s wrist.

The match officially begins. Lumis punches Strong down and knocks him out of the ring. Lumis uses the strap to pull Strong hard into the apron twice. Lumis goes outside to retrieve him. Strong quickly punches him and goes to whip his back, but Lumis moves. Lumis punches Strong down and gets him in the ring. Lumis stomps Strong and chokes him with his boot. Lumis sends him to the corner and hits a back body drop. Strong writhes around in pain. Lumis stomps Strong’s back and punches him down in the corner. Lumis chokes him with his boot again. Strong manages to kick Lumis back and knees him before chopping the chest. Lumis doesn’t feel any of it and simply stares at Strong. Lumis knocks him to the apron and punches him down. Lumis knocks him over the top rope and pulls him back up to the apron. Lumis brings him into the ring the hard way. Strong quickly boots him back and knees him in the face. Strong gets Lumis in the corner, wraps the strap around his wrist, and punches him. Lumis quickly slides out, uses the strap to bend Strong over, and kicks him in the face. Strong rolls out of the ring to recover.

Lumis goes outside and forearms Strong in the face. Lumis goes to whip him, but Strong moves. Lumis pulls him over the steps and flips Strong on the floor. Lumis punches him up the ramp before whipping him hard into the video wall. Lumis looks down at one of the cars used for set decoration. Lumis opens the trunk of the Dodge Viper, and Strong looks terrified. Strong boots Lumis in the face a few times from the stage. Strong punches him down the ramp and hits a big Olympic Slam on the floor!

Strong gets Lumis in the ring and whips his back with the strap. Strong chops the chest and cracks him on the back a few times with the strap. Strong grounds and pounds him before hitting a basement dropkick. Strong punches and knees away at Lumis for a one count. Strong talks trash to Lumis and goes for a gutwrench suplex, but Lumis fights it. Strong punches him down for a one count. Strong quickly goes to a chin lock, but Lumis fights out and stomps him in the corner. Strong quickly boots Lumis in the head and kicks him down. Strong whips him in the back with the strap again and backhands him a few times. Strong whips him in the chest with the strap before hitting a big running forearm. Strong goes for a second one, but Lumis turns him inside out with a clothesline.

Lumis punches Strong down a few times before uppercutting him. Lumis clotheslines him in the corner and follows up with a bulldog for a near fall. Lumis connects with a slingshot suplex before whipping Strong. Strong gets out of the Silence and knees Lumis in the face. Strong puts Lumis on the top rope and connects with a superplex for a near fall! Strong ties the strap around the feet of Lumis and applies a modified Strong Hold. Lumis powers himself to the ropes and pulls himself out of the ring. Lumis quickly drops Strong on the apron and puts him in the ring. Lumis gets on the apron, but Bobby Fish runs down and kicks Lumis in the knees! Strong wipes Lumis out with a flying knee to the face for a near fall.

Strong and Lumis trade punches in the ring. Fish runs in, but Lumis whips him down. Lumis then whips Strong into Fish, who is knocked off the apron into the plexiglass. Lumis ties Strong up into him and hits a modified uranage. Lumis wraps the strap around Strong’s face and applies the Silence for the win.

A disappointed Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are walking backstage when they’re stopped for an interview. LeRae runs off to beat up Mia Yim, who she saw from afar. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott tries to help, but Gargano shoves him. Referees and other wrestlers run in to break it up.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar makes his way to the ring with Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza. They’re being called El Legado del Fantasma. Escobar says the lucha libre culture used to mean something. It used to transcend the wrestling ring. They were movie stars, icons, heroes, and role models. Now it’s a sideshow. The people settled. They think lucha libre is just guys in masks doing flips. They’re wrong because they are more than a mask. Legado del Fantasma will rediscover the true roots of lucha libre in his image. They’ll restore its honor and leave a legacy to be proud of. They’re going to right the wrongs of those that disrupted what it means to be a lucha libre artist. They are going to build their empire. He is Santos Escobar and this…

Drake Maverick’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage with a neck brace on. Maverick pulls the brace off, charges the ring, and runs into Mendoza and Wilde. They quickly take him out and hold him up for Escobar. Escobar says no one will touch him. Breezango runs down and fight Wilde and Mendoza off before clotheslining them out of the ring. Escobar quickly leaves the ring and walks off. Fandango challenges them to a six-man tag match on Night Two of the NXT Great American Bash. They’ll have nowhere to hide.

Cameron Grimes is backstage laughing. He heard Damian Priest challenge him to a rematch. Grimes says for a man that claims he’ll live forever, he’s sure in a hurry to come after him. Grimes doesn’t have time to worry about the past because he’s got his foot on the gas. Grimes calls out either Keith Lee or Adam Cole… whoever wins, he’s the #1 Contender.

Coming up next, NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai takes on Sasha Banks. The main event will be shown commercial free.

-Commercial Break-

It’s official: Drake Maverick and Breezango will take on Legado del Fantasma. We’ll also see Candice LeRae take on Mia Yim in a Street Fight. Adam Cole takes on Keith Lee in a Winner Take All Match. This all happens next week on night two of the NXT Great American Bash.

Sasha Banks w/ Bayley vs. NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai

This is a non-title match.

They lock up, and Banks powers her to the corner before posing. They lock up again, but Banks wrenches the arm. Shirai twists out and wrenches the arm. Banks punches out and sends her into the ropes, but Shirai avoids a clothesline and does a handspring. Shirai hits a pendulum kick before going to the top rope for a missile dropkick. Banks is knocked out of the ring. Shirai hits a nice suicide dive/cross-body block and celebrates.

Shirai gets her in the ring and beats Banks down in the corner before driving her knees into her for a two count. Shirai puts Banks on the top rope and goes for a move, but Bayley goes over to the Dodge Viper and honks the horn to distract her. Banks slams Shirai down for a two count. Banks punches away at Shirai before applying a rear chin lock. Shirai fights up and drives her into the corner. Banks blocks a kick, lays her on the ropes, and hits double knees for a near fall. Banks steps on Shirai’s one hand and bends the other arm. Banks elbows her in the shoulder fore a one count. Shirai crawls over to the ropes, but Banks brings her back for a running double knee for a near fall. Banks stomps Shirai and applies a surfboard stretch. Shirai gets out, but Banks drives her headfirst into the middle turnbuckle. Shirai goes to the top rope and hits a frankensteiner! Banks writhes in pain on the mat.

Shirai hits a pair of shoulder blocks followed by a flapjack. Shirai hits a tiger feint kick before hitting a springboard missile dropkick for a near fall. Shirai looks frustrated that didn’t put Banks away. Shirai goes for a Tiger Bomb, but Banks gets out. Shirai then turns her inside out (and nearly spikes Banks on her head) with a German Suplex. Banks counters a move into the Bank Statement, but Shirai reverses the hold into a roll-up for a two count. Shirai rolls her over and hits a double stomp to the midsection. Shirai hits running knees in the corner, steps on her, and goes to the top rope. Banks sweeps the feet and puts her in the tree of woe. Banks taunts Shirai and slaps her in the face. Banks shouts that no one would be here without her. Shirai tries to fight back, but Banks punches her. Banks goes for double knees in the corner, but Shirai sits up to avoid it. Shirai goes for a Moonsault, but she lands on her feet when Banks moves. Banks boots her back and hits a meteora for a near fall.

Shirai puts her in the ropes for another tiger feint kick, but Banks moves. Banks punches her on the apron, but Shirai knocks her back. Shirai goes for a springboard, but slips. Banks grabs her, so Shirai punches her back. Shirai goes for a springboard again, but Banks catches her and kicks her in the face. Banks goes for a sunset flip powerbomb, but Shirai holds on. Shirai loses her grip, so Banks powerbombs her into the plexiglass around ringside before slamming her down high on her shoulders on the floor! Banks and Bayley celebrate at ringside.

Banks gets Shirai in the ring and goes to the top rope. Banks goes for a frog splash, but she crashes and burns when Shirai moves. Shirai applies a crossface, but Banks won’t tap out. Bayley distracts the referee by throwing one of the Women’s Tag Team Titles in the ring. The referee removes it from the ring, so Bayley uses the distraction to punch Shirai. All of a sudden, Raw Women’s Champion Asuka shows up and sprays mist in Banks’ face! Shirai rolls Banks up for a near fall. Shirai takes Banks down and hits Bayley with a dropkick. Shirai follows up with a Moonsault for the win!

Winner by Pinfall: NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai

Io Shirai and Asuka celebrate in the ring as Banks and Bayley walk off disappointed. The commentators run down what’s coming on Night Two of the NXT Great American Bash.
