“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

A video kicks off the show recapping what we saw last week with Adam Cole and Finn Bálor reaching a tie in the 4-Way 60-Minute Iron Man Match.

NXT Championship
Finn Bálor vs. Adam Cole

The bell rings, and they lock up. They tussle to the corner, and Bálor turns him around before giving a clean break. They set up for a test of strength, but Bálor surprises him by picking the leg and going for a chin lock. Cole quickly fights up and applies a hammerlock. Bálor picks the leg again and cinches in a side headlock. Cole quickly rolls him over twice for a two count. Cole fights up and tries to whip him off, but Bálor holds on to the side headlock. Cole finally whips him off, but Bálor shoulder blocks him down for a one count. Bálor quickly goes back to the chin lock. Cole fights out and goes back to the hammerlock. Bálor fights up, hits a snapmare, and applies a deep chin lock. Cole fights out once again and goes to the hammerlock. Bálor rolls him up for a two count.

We’re at a stalemate right now. Both men stare at each other before trying for a test of strength, but Cole catches him with a hammerlock instead. Bálor fights up, takes him down with an arm drag, and applies an arm bar to Cole. Bálor digs his knee into Cole’s face for good measure. Cole arm drags him off, but Bálor holds on, takes him down, and applies a grapevine to Cole’s neck. Bálor then twists Cole’s wrist. Cole wiggles out and hits a basement dropkick to the face.

Cole forearms Bálor back before clubbing the chest. Cole has a whip reversed, but Bálor lowers his head. Cole quickly grabs him and connects with an ushigoroshi for a near fall.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Bálor hit a snapmare and kick Cole in the spine for a near fall. Bálor applies a rear chin lock and really cinches it in. Cole eventually fights up and hits a jawbreaker. Cole hits the ropes, but Bálor hits a back elbow. Bálor connects with a scoop slam and drops an elbow for a two count. Bálor bounces him off the turnbuckle and stomps him down in the corner. Bálor chops the chest before hitting the ropes and hitting a basement dropkick for a near fall. Bálor puts Cole in the corner and shoulders away at him before chopping the chest. Cole staggers to the other corner, so Bálor follows and shoulders away at him again. Bálor whip him across the ring to the opposite corner and hits a running chop. Bálor repeats this with the opposite corner. Bálor sends him across the ring for a third chop. Cole fights back and sends Bálor into the ropes, but he lowers his head and eats a kick. Cole immediately responds with a clothesline, a back elbow, and a pump kick to the face.

Cole drops to his knees in pain as he recovers from the hard chops. Cole goes to a waistlock, but Bálor elbows him. Bálor goes for a German Suplex, but Cole gets out. Cole hits him with a backstabber for a near fall. Cole sizes Bálor up and goes for a Last Shot, but Bálor sweeps the feet. Cole avoids a double stomp and goes for a superkick, but Bálor blocks it. Bálor hits a Sling Blade and backs up before charging, but Cole connects with a Shining Wizard for a near fall!

Cole pulls his kneepad down and sets up for a Last Shot, but Bálor takes him down and connects with a devastating double stomp to the chest. Bálor stomps away at Cole. Cole rolls out of the ring to recover, so Bálor hits him with a baseball slide. Bálor stomps away at Cole before sending him into the timekeeper’s area. Bálor sizes him up and charges, but Cole pops out and superkicks him down!

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Cole sitting on the top turnbuckle only for Bálor to kick him in the head. Bálor goes to the top rope for the Coup de Grâce, but Cole moves. Cole then applies the Figure Four Leglock to Bálor. Bálor screams in pain, but he claws his way to the bottom rope to get a break. Cole waits for Bálor to get up and charges, but Bálor counters with a Sling Blade. Bálor hits a hammer drop before hitting a Woo Dropkick to the corner! Bálor pulls himself to the top rope on one leg and connects with a vicious Coup de Grâce! Bálor holds his knee in pain for a few moments before covering, but Cole kicks out!

Bálor goes for 1916, but Cole gets out and applies a Figure Four Leglock! Bálor lays down in pain and takes a two count. Bálor tries to roll him over, but Cole rolls with him and keeps the hold applied. Cole lets go, pulls him to the center of the ring, and goes to reapply the hold, but Bálor catches him with an inside cradle for a near fall. Cole quickly superkicks him and hits a Last Shot… but Bálor kicks out! Cole is stunned.

Cole goes to the second rope for a Panama Sunrise, but Bálor catches him and lifts him. Bálor drops him and goes for a 1916, but Cole gets out by driving him to the corner. Bálor then catches him with a Reverse Bloody Sunday. Bálor holds his leg in pain. Bálor pulls himself to the top rope, but Cole superkicks the injured knee. Cole climbs the ropes, but Bálor elbows away at him. They’re both on the top rope and balancing precariously. Bálor then hits 1916 off the top rope to win the NXT Championship for the second time!

Winner by Pinfall and new NXT Champion: Finn Bálor

Rhea Ripley says Mercedes Martinez has spent months trying to make a name for herself at her expense. Tonight in the Steel Cage, she’ll show why she is the nightmare.

Rhea Ripley will face Mercedes Martinez in a Battle of the Badasses in a Steel Cage Match later tonight.

-Commercial Break-

New NXT Champion Finn Bálor is greeting some NXT performers backstage. Adam Cole shows respect to Bálor. Triple H walks up to him and shakes his hand. NXT General Manager William Regal also congratulates him. Bálor says this is why he came back to NXT. It’s time to start again.

Robert Stone is backstage with McKenzie Mitchell. Stone pulls her over to Shotzi Blackheart’s mini-tank. Stone goes to hit it, but Blackheart interrupts him. Blackheart attacks him, but Aliyah soon blindsides her, sending her through a curtain. NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai was behind the curtain and got knocked over.

Aliyah is chased into the ring, and Shirai and Blackheart take turns hitting her. Stone goes to the top rope and jumps, but he’s turned inside out with a punch to the midsection. Shirai hits him with a moonsault while Blackheart comes off the top rope with a senton splash on Aliyah. Shirai and Blackheart celebrate. Blackheart grabs the NXT Women’s Championship and holds it back from Shirai before handing it to her. Shirai tells Blackheart not to make her hurt her.

We go to the Gargano household. Candice LeRae tells Johnny Gargano to be nice to Tegan Nox when she gets there. Nox knocks on the door, and Gargano answers. Gargano is being over-the-top with her. Nox sits down at the dining room table, and LeRae says they should talk. Gargano is also sitting there. Nox looks worried.

-Commercial Break-

Timothy Thatcher is shown analyzing a Damian Priest match. Priest leaves his feet too much, which makes him out of control. Thatcher will take advantage of that.

Velveteen Dream vs. Ashante “Thee” Adonis

The bell rings, and Dream is touching Adonis’ pants. Adonis shoves him back. Dream drops down and taunts him. Adonis talks trash, so Dream punches him back and powers him to the corner. Dream backs up, but Adonis hits a pair of clotheslines. Adonis hits a back body drop and dropkicks him before rolling him up for a near fall. Adonis quickly twists Dream around and hits a big DDT. Adonis goes for a superkick, but Dream moves. Adonis nearly hits the referee, who scurries away. Dream takes advantage of the distraction to poke Adonis in the eyes. Dream connects with the Dream Valley Driver for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Velveteen Dream

Velveteen Dream grabs a microphone to talk, but Kushida wildly attacks him from behind. Kushida is returning from an attack by Dream a few weeks ago. Kushida punches away at Dream before referees pull him off. Kushida sweeps the feet. Dream grabs him by the hair after Kushida goes to ringside. Kushida viciously pulls him shoulder-first into the ring post a few times before applying an arm bar over the ropes. Kushida then walks off, and Dream is left in a broken heap at ringside.

NXT Tag Team Champions Breezango are talking about their recent success. They’ll be facing Imperium in a rematch for the titles next Wednesday on WWE NXT.

Coming up next, we’ll see Bronson Reed take on Austin Theory.

-Commercial Break-

We go back to the Gargano household. Johnny Gargano asks if he’s making this dinner awkward, and Tegan Nox says he is. Gargano says he’ll finish his meal upstairs. LeRae and Nox disagree over their recent history. LeRae says she won’t understand the Gargano way. Nox says she doesn’t like it. LeRae says as the big sister, she’s always had Nox’ back. She’s never led her down a wrong path. What does Nox have to lose?

Bronson Reed vs. Austin Theory

Theory signals he wants a handshake, but he hooks a side headlock instead. Reed whips him off and goes for a shoulder block, but Theory stays standing. Theory talks a little trash. Reed applies a side headlock and tightens it up. Theory tries to whip him off, but Reed holds on and drives him down onto the mat. Reed squeezes the side headlock harder. Theory fights up and punches out. Theory stomps on the foot and whips him off, but Reed runs him over with a shoulder tackle. Theory hits the ropes for a dropkick, but Reed moves. Reed follows up with a springboard elbow drop for a near fall.

Theory rolls to the apron to recover. Reed hip tosses him back into the ring and goes back to the rear chin lock. Theory fights up and hits the ropes, but Reed drops him with a back elbow. Theory goes back to the apron and forearms Reed back. Theory shoulders him and goes for a sunset flip, but Reed stays standing before hitting a cannonball for a near fall! Theory rolls to the floor to recover. Reed comes off the apron with a diving shoulder tackle, and Theory sells it like he’s Shawn Michaels taking on Hulk Hogan at SummerSlam 2005.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Theory applying a chin lock to Reed. Reed fights up with Theory on his back and hits a backpack splash on him! Theory has the wind knocked out of him.

Reed punches Theory back a few times before sending him into the ropes for a back elbow. Reed connects with an inverted atomic drop followed by a bionic elbow that Theory sells with a front flip. Reed avalanches him in the corner and hits a Jagged Edge for a near fall.Reed lifts him, but Theory slides off and lifts him up for a back suplex, but he drops him and holds his back. Reed charges, but Theory catches him with a rolling thunder blockbuster for a near fall.

Theory grabs Reed and gets him to his feet. Theory lifts him up for the ATL, but his legs give out and he falls forward with the full weight of Reed on him. Reed quickly hits a senton splash on him before going to the top rope. Reed connects with a diving splash for the win!

Winner by Pinfall: Bronson Reed

McKenzie Mitchell catches up with Adam Cole and asks for his thoughts. Cole says he’s disappointed, but the better man won tonight. She asks about shaking Finn Bálor’s hand. Cole says he respects Bálor, but Bálor better hope he doesn’t get another opportunity at the title. If he does then the outcome will be different. That is undisputed.

-Commercial Break-

Mercedes Martinez talks about how lions take out the biggest to get on top. Rhea Ripley is good, but not as good as her. When the cage door closes, she won’t stop until there is nothing left of Ripley.

Roderick Strong w/ Bobby Fish vs. Killian Dain

The bell rings, and Strong circles around Dain. Strong does it again, and Dain looks infuriated. Dain grabs him, but Strong slides out and chops him. Dain doesn’t feel it, so Strong runs away. Dain follows him out and grabs Bobby Fish. Strong attacks Dain and punches him into the ring. Strong punches Dain in the corner, but Dain grabs him and throws him into the corner instead. Dain punches away at him before driving him sternum-first into the turnbuckle. Dain follows up with a big club to the chest to take him down.

Strong jumps on Dain’s back before sliding off and hitting a jumping heel kick. Dain goes to the apron. Strong charges, but Dain counters him with a one-armed slam. The referee checks on Strong. While he does, Fish kicks Dain in the knee to knock him to the floor.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Dain fight up from a hold and hits a pair of clotheslines followed by a back elbow. Dain avalanches him twice before throwing him down. Dain connects with the Divide for a near fall. Strong tries to get out of the ring, but Dain catches him. Strong slides away and goes to lift him, but Dain gets out. Strong boots him abck and hits an enzuigiri. Dain quickly hits a fireman’s carry slam followed by a senton splash. DAin goes to the top rope, but Fish pulls Strong away. Dain attacks Fish before Strong hits him with a knee to the face for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Roderick Strong

Strong and Fish double-team Dain after the match until Drake Maverick runs down with a lead pipe. Strong and Fish quickly overwhelm Maverick, but Dain scares them off with the pipe. Dain looks at Maverick and throws the pipe down before leaving. Maverick wants to shake hands with him, so Dain gets in the ring and punches him in the face.

We’re back at the Gargano household. Candice LeRae and Tegan Nox are toasting. LeRae toasts to her future NXT Women’s Championship match. Nox takes exception with that. LeRae throws salad on her, so Nox throws her drink in her face. Johnny Gargano runs down and says Nox is a piece of garbage and a bad friend. Nox pours a bowl of spaghetti over his head. LeRae angrily throws an object, but it cracks her big screen TV. Nox runs out of the house, so LeRae chases her. Gargano looks devastated over the loss of his television.

-Commercial Break-

McKenzie Mitchell is backstage with NXT North American Champion Damian Priest. She mentions he’ll be defending the title against Timothy Thatcher next week on NXT. Priest says he’s not losing the title in his first defense.

In addition to the NXT North American Championship match, Breezango will defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against Imperium. NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai will also face Shotzi Blackheart in a non-title match.

Steel Cage Match
Mercedes Martinez w/ Robert Stone vs. Rhea Ripley

During Martinez’ entrance, she threw a kendo stick into the ring. She also put three chairs in and grabbed a table before Rhea Ripley attacked her from behind. Ripley sandwiches Martinez into the cage wall with the cage door and slams it into her face a few times before putting her in the ring. Ripley scares Robert Stone away before putting the table in the ring.

The bell rings, and Martinez blindsides Ripley. Martinez sends her hard into the cage wall before viciously clubbing away at her chest. Martinez grabs a chair and swings, but Ripley ducks. Ripley kicks her in the midsection and drives her into the cage wall. Ripley grabs the arms and stretches her over the ropes. Ripley sandwiches a chair in between the top and middle turnbuckle. Martinez nearly sends Ripley into the chair, but Ripley blocks it and big boots her. Ripley punches Martinez down before kicking her in the ribs. Robert Stone shouts at Ripley from ringside. Ripley steps on Martinez’ back and talks some trash. Ripley goes for the Riptide, but Martinez gets out and hits a stiff fisherman’s suplex!

Martinez grabs a steel chair, but Ripley boots it out of her hands. Ripley goes to the second rope, but Martinez kicks her. Martinez hits a powerslam on the steel chair for a near fall.

-Commercial Break-

We come back from the break to see Ripley on the second rope with Martinez behind her. Martinez then hits a German Suplex off the ropes to the mat!

Martinez pulls herself up after a few moments, but Ripley recovers and throws a chair into her face. Martinez is stunned on the top rope. Ripley charges and dropkicks her hard. Martinez’ head goes in between the two cage walls. Ripley climbs to the top rope and hits Martinez with a big top rope superplex. Both women wince in pain on the mat. Ripley covers for a near fall.

Ripley takes a moment to get her bearings straight before grabbing Martinez. Martinez quickly forearms her back and hits a spinebuster. Martinez sets up for a kick, but Ripley takes her down and applies a Prism Trap. Martinez won’t tap out, so Ripley lets go and hits Martinez with the kendo stick. Robert Stone starts climbing the cage, so Ripley hits him with the stick and knocks him out while he hangs over the top of the cage. Martinez attacks Ripley with the kendo stick and hits a neckbreaker off the top rope! Both women are down for a few moments before Martinez covers for a near fall. Martinez cannot believe it.

Martinez grabs the table and sets it up near the corner of the ring. Martinez grabs Ripley and puts her on the top rope. Martinez sets up for a fisherman’s suplex through the table, but Ripley fights it. Ripley head-butts Martinez a few times and hits her with a Riptide off the second rope through the table for the win!
