The Raw video plays, and we go live into the MVP Arena to see a big pyrotechnics display.
Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring. McIntyre welcomes everyone to Monday Night Raw, which gets a good reaction from the crowd. McIntyre says Raw is the land where everyone seems to have lost their minds lately. They’re liars, hypocrites, cowards, and just plain idiots. Apparently, you can get fired and leave, do whatever in the meantime, and you’re instantly forgiven. A “CM Punk” chant picks up. We also have the champion Seth Rollins trying to pull a fast one. Rollins could have given anyone a title shot. McIntyre beat Jey Uso the week before. Rollins slapped him in the face, so McIntyre head-butted him in the face. Speaking of Jey Uso, McIntyre sarcastically mentions he can give an apology. Jey ran to Randy Orton with his tail between his legs and begged for forgiveness. McIntyre says Jey’s time is coming.
There’s someone McIntyre is forgetting… Sami Zayn. Zayn’s music hits, and he comes out to a big reaction. McIntyre looks happy. A “Sami” chant picks up. Zayn says McIntyre has a lot to say about everybody. McIntyre can say what he wants to his face. McIntyre says he does have something to say. Last week, Zayn tried to talk about how alike he is to McIntyre. Zayn is the one person in the world that deserves to get screwed over by the Bloodline. Zayn was part of the Bloodline. He was their lapdog and errand boy. Zayn joined them because he was running away from McIntyre. Then Zayn screwed them over. What the hell did he think would happen? Zayn deserved it. The crowd is mixed to that, and McIntyre says it’s the truth.
Zayn says McIntyre is right in that he was wrong. Zayn was wrong in thinking they’re alike. The more he listens to McIntyre, the more he realizes they’re nothing alike. Zayn is not a delusional person. Zayn doesn’t point his finger at everyone else for his shortcomings. When Zayn lost in front of his family and let everyone down in his championship opportunity, he kept going. Zayn stayed hungry, and it carried him to the Main Event of WrestleMania. Zayn got redemption and made his family proud. Does McIntyre think he’s making his family proud? McIntyre is furious. McIntyre says one of them is not walking out of here tonight. McIntyre demands for a referee.
Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn
The referee gets in the ring and starts the match. McIntyre powers Zayn into the corner and tosses him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. McIntyre pulls Zayn to his feet and chops the chest before punching him in the head to take him down. Zayn rolls out of the ring to recover. A “Let’s go, Sami” chant picks up. McIntyre bounces him off the apron and lifts him, but Zayn slides off and sends him into the ring post. Zayn takes it to McIntyre and gets in the ring before hitting a somersault senton.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Zayn knock McIntyre away. McIntyre quickly responds with a chop that sends Zayn out of the ring. Zayn attacks McIntyre with chops as he exits the ring. McIntyre quickly reverses a whip into the barricade, but Zayn leaps to the top and hits a moonsault block to take McIntyre down. Zayn powers McIntyre into the ring and gets inside, but McIntyre floors him with a clothesline. McIntyre mounts Zayn and punches away at him. McIntyre pulls him to his feet and chops him back down. McIntyre smiles at the crowd. McIntyre pulls Zayn up and rocks him with a chop to the chest. Zayn takes a moment to recover and chops him, but McIntyre chops him down. McIntyre stomps away at Zayn’s limbs. Zayn stumbles to the corner and elbows McIntyre back. Zayn goes to the second rope and knocks McIntyre back. Zayn comes off the second rope with a flying elbow to the head. Zayn may have tweaked his ankle on the landing. Zayn goes for a vertical suplex, but McIntyre fights it. Zayn swings out of a vertical suplex and sidesteps McIntyre to send him shoulder-first into the ring post. Zayn then connects with a textbook vertical suplex.
Both men are down. Zayn grabs his ankle in pain. They get to their feet and exchange punches. Zayn hits the ropes and hits a tilt-a-whirl tornado DDT for a two-count. Zayn heads to the top rope and jumps, but McIntyre counters into an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. McIntyre gets him up and absolutely launches him with a second overhead belly-to-belly suplex. McIntyre connects with a neckbreaker before kipping up. McIntyre does the rope shake a la the Ultimate Warrior, angering the crowd. Zayn then clotheslines the showboating McIntyre over the top rope. Zayn goes for a plancha, but McIntyre catches him and slings him over the commentary table.
-Commercial Break-
Back from the break, McIntyre attempts an inverted Alabama Slam, but Zayn counters into a roll-up for a near fall. McIntyre quickly stops him with a spinebuster and a jackknife pin for a near fall. McIntyre follows up with a sit-out powerbomb for another near fall! The crowd chants, “This is awesome!” McIntyre pulls Zayn to his feet and puts him on his shoulders. McIntyre starts to climb to the second rope with Zayn on his shoulders. Zayn slides out of a super White Noise and hits a snap powerbomb for a near fall.
Both men are down again. Zayn is the first to his feet, and he hobbles around on his bad ankle. Zayn sets up for a Blue Thunder Bomb, but McIntyre fights it. Zayn wildly clubs away at McIntyre and lifts him, but McIntyre slides out and drops him with a Glasgow Kiss. McIntyre sizes Zayn up. McIntyre counts down and charges for a Claymore Kick, but Zayn big boots him and hits a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. The crowd chants, “This is awesome,” once again. McIntyre and Zayn exchange punches from their knees before getting to their feet. McIntyre reverses a whip, but Zayn springboards over him. Zayn hurts the ankle on the landing and falls down. Zayn knocks McIntyre back before he attacks and sends him over the top rope. Zayn signals that he’s going for a plancha, but his ankle is too injured.
Zayn is having trouble standing. McIntyre looks over at Zayn and then hits him with a chop block! The crowd boos McIntyre. Zayn is trying to pull himself to his feet, but McIntyre wipes him out with a Claymore Kick for the win.
Winner by Pinfall: Drew McIntyre
The referee checks on Zayn after the match and loosens his boot. McIntyre calls the referee over to raise his arm in victory. The crowd boos McIntyre. McIntyre looks into the camera and says, “And the truth will set you free.”
Backstage Interview
Zoey Stark checks on Shayna Baszler. Byron Saxton asks Baszler about facing Nia Jax. Baszler says she put Jax on the shelf for two years by breaking her arm. Tonight, she’ll remind her of that when she breaks all her limbs.
Coming up next, Shayna Baszler will battle Nia Jax.

Video Package: “Main Event” Jey Uso highlight reel. A few months ago, he had the chance to dethrone the Tribal Chief and become the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but it was ripped away from him by the one man he loved more than anyone in the world… his own twin brother. That hurt Jey more than anyone could ever know. Jey had to walk away. Jey convinced himself he was done until he got a call from Cody Rhodes. Rhodes told him not to quit and be his own man. The more he thought about it, the more he realized Rhodes was right. For his whole life, he fought for everyone, such as Roman, his brothers, and his father. Now, Jey is fighting for his own legacy. Before the titles, the Uso Penitentiary, the face paint, FCW, training, and being broke, it was just him. Seth Rollins has fought with him and against him. Tonight, Rollins will find out how hungry he is. Jey will prove to himself why they call him “Main Event” Jey Uso.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso later tonight.
Backstage Segment
Jackie Redmond is backstage, and we can see Sami Zayn being tended to by a trainer. Redmond wants to get an update on Zayn’s ankle, but Drew McIntyre attacks him from out of nowhere. McIntyre punches away at Zayn and says he brought this on himself by talking about his family. McIntyre says he’s nothing like Zayn. Zayn brought this onto himself. McIntyre stomps the injured ankle. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce runs up with officials and has McIntyre removed. Zayn is in a lot of pain.

Backstage Segment
Sami Zayn is seated on the floor, and WWE trainers are tending to his injured ankle. “Main Event” Jey Uso comes up and says Zayn is going to be ok.
Backstage Interview
Byron Saxton is backstage with “The Man” Becky Lynch. Saxton wanted to ask about last week… but Nia Jax walks up. She calls Saxton “Barney.” Jax mentions that Lynch talked about having a few fights on the horizon. Lynch says Jax is number one on the list. Lynch forgot all about her, but now that she interrupted her interview, she realized she needs to give Jax a receipt. Jax says when she’s done squashing Shayna Baszler, she is all Lynch’s. Lynch is looking forward to it.
Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler
The bell rings, and Jax charges her, but Baszler sidesteps her. Baszler attacks, but Jax quickly throws her to the corner. Jax avalanches her and talks a little trash before throwing her across the ring. Baszler avoids an avalanche and connects with a step-up knee to the face. Baszler grabs the hand and does some joint manipulation. Baszler tries to pull her body over the top rope to deliver a cross-arm breaker, but Jax powers her back in for a sit-out powerbomb. Baszler rolls out of the ring to recover. Jax follows Baszler outside and bounces her off the commentary table. Jax bounces her off the apron and gets her on her shoulders. Baszler slides off and drives Jax into the LED ring post. Baszler gets in the ring to break the count. Baszler goes to the apron and kicks Jax in the shoulder. Baszler goes to stomp the hand on the apron, but Jax counters by sweeping the feet. Baszler is lying over the bottom rope, and Jax leg drops her down on it. Baszler grabs her throat in pain.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Baszler applying a neck vice to Baszler. Baszler soon fights up and hits a jawbreaker. Baszler hits some body shots to knock her to the corner. Baszler charges, but Jax flattens her with a uranage. Jax sends her shoulder-first into the ring post and goes to the apron. Jax hits a running hip attack to sandwich Baszler’s skull into the LED ring post. Jax covers for a near fall. Jax puts Baszler in the corner and chops her. Baszler fights out of the corner and hits the ropes. Jax quickly grabs her and crushes her with a sidewalk slam. Jax bounces Baszler’s head off the mat a few times for another two-count. Jax goes to a seated cobra clutch. Baszler fights up and kicks out. Baszler hits the ropes and kicks her in the chest. Jax doesn’t go down. Baszler tries again for the same result. Jax soon catches her with a Samoan Drop.
Baszler crawls to the corner and avoids a hip attack. Baszler pulls Jax hard into the corner. Baszler connects with a running knee for a near fall. Baszler gets to her feet and kicks away at Jax’s chest. Jax blocks a kick, but Baszler pulls away and kicks her in the temple. Baszler hits the ropes, but Jax avalanches her down. Jax connects with a senton splash for a two-count. Jax cannot believe it. Jax pulls Baszler to the corner and climbs to the second rope. Baszler grabs the ankle and applies an ankle lock. Jax swats her away, so Baszler catches her with a German Suplex off the second rope! Jax’s lower body landed on Baszler’s head on the way down. Baszler takes a moment to recover before applying a Kirifuda Clutch. Jax fights up to her feet and hits a backpack splash on Baszler.
An irate Jax pulls Baszler to the corner and goes to the second rope. Jax hits the Annihilator for the win.

Becky Lynch’s music hits soon after the conclusion of the match. The Man has a big smile on her face as she walks to the ring. Lynch gets in the ring, and Jax exits out of the other side. Lynch points at Jax and invites her into the ring. Jax backs away.
Video Package: Nine days ago at Survivor Series: WarGames, CM Punk made a shocking return to WWE after nearly a decade away. Two days later on WWE Raw, Punk said he was home. They never forgot him after 10 years. Punk loves the fans. Almost everybody has welcomed him back with open arms. Those people are afraid because the best in the world hasn’t been here in a long time.
CM Punk will return on SmackDown this Friday.
Backstage Segment
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano of #DIY are talking backstage when they’re approached by Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell. Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of Imperium walk up and call them all losers. LeRae says they will lose twice tonight. Hartwell says that won’t make Gunther happy. They all walk off. Kaiser tells Vinci not to mess tonight up. Vinci tells him the same and walks off.
In the arena, #DIY makes their way to the ring. They’ll face Imperium in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Tag Team Match next.

2-out-of-3 Falls Tag Team Match
#DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) vs. Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci)
Tommaso Ciampa and Ludwig Kaiser will start the match. They lock up, and Kaiser powers Ciampa to the corner. Kaiser goes for a punch, but Ciampa ducks it and punches away at him. Kaiser reverses a whip to the opposite corner and slaps him down. Kaiser taunts the crowd and puts Ciampa in the corner. Giovanni Vinci tags in and punches away at Ciampa. Ciampa punches back at Vinci and sends him into the ropes. Vinci ducks a clothesline and connects with a running cross-body block. Vinci powers Ciampa up and uppercuts him to the corner. Vinci clubs the lower back and tags Kaiser in. Kaiser punches Ciampa in the midsection and rakes the face with his boots. Kaiser taunts the crowd. Kaiser sends Ciampa into the ropes for a back elbow. Kaiser covers for a one-count. Kaiser applies an armbar. The crowd wills Ciampa on. Ciampa fights up and slings Kaiser face-first into the corner. Kaiser pulls Ciampa back and avoids an enzuigiri.
Johnny Gargano is soon tagged in. Gargano takes it to Vinci and Kaiser. Gargano hits the ropes and hits a tilt-a-whirl front slam on Kaiser. Gargano kicks Kaiser back and kicks Vinci down at ringside. Gargano connects with a slingshot spear and tags Ciampa in. #DIY goes for Meet in the Middle, but Vinci pulls Gargano out of the ring. Kaiser rolls Ciampa up with a handful of tights to pick up the first fall.
Imperium leads the series 1-0.
Imperium regroups at ringside, and Gargano takes Vinci out with a cannonball off the apron. Ciampa then wipes out Kaiser with a plancha. #DIY poses on the commentary table.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to hear a #DIY chant. Gargano punches away at Kaiser, but Kaiser shoves him off and hits an inverted powerslam. Kaiser knocks Ciampa off the apron and tags Vinci in. They hang Gargano upside down in the corner and hit him with stereo attacks. Imperium soon sets up for an Imperium Bomb, but Ciampa attacks Kaiser and holds him back. Gargano then rolls Vinci up to win the fall.
The series is even 1-1.
Ciampa tags in, and he punches Vinci down. Ciampa chops away at Vinci and Kaiser, but they fight him off. Ciampa takes them out with a double clothesline before hitting a dual flatliner/reverse DDT combo. Gargano tags in, and #DIY hits stereo kicks on Vinci. #DIY hits a stereo back suplex for a near fall. Gargano knocks Kaiser out of the ring. Gargano hits the ropes, but Vinci hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a two-count. Kaiser tags in. Imperium goes for an Imperium Bomb, but Gargano hits Vinci with a hurricanrana. Gargano takes it to Kaiser and hits the ropes, but Kaiser crushes him with a Death Valley Driver. Vinci tags in and stands on the top rope before leaping to the other and hitting a moonsault! 1… 2… Ciampa breaks it up.
Kaiser gets in the ring and attacks Ciampa. They trade punches before Gargano superkicks Kaiser. Vinci punches Ciampa in the midsection. Gargano takes Vinci down. Kaiser viciously clotheslines Ciampa. Gargano knees Kaiser and Vinci attacks Gargano. Gargano counters a powerbomb into a DDT.
All four men are down. The crowd chants, “This is awesome.” Kaiser and Ciampa tag in and trade strikes. Ciampa gets Kaiser on the top rope and hits an Air Raid Siren! Gargano tags in. #DIY gets the crowd fired up and set up for Meet in the Middle. Vinci pulls Ciampa out of the ring, but Ciampa sends him into the steps. Kaiser rolls Gargano up with a handful of tights for a near fall. Ciampa tags in, and they kick away at Kaiser to take him down. #DIY hits Meet in the Middle to win the match.
Winners by Pinfall by 2-1 Falls: #DIY
Giovanni Vinci says Ludwig Kaiser will have to explain this loss to Gunther. This one is on Kaiser.
Backstage Segment
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green and Piper Niven walk up to Natalya and Tegan Nox. Green makes fun of them. Natalya says after they win their match tonight, they’re coming after the titles and won’t miss.
Later tonight, Seth “Freakin” Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against “Main Event” Jey Uso.

Replay: The Creed Brothers won Tag Team Turmoil last week on Raw to become the #1 Contenders for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
Backstage Segment
The Creed Brothers have Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of the New Day on their shoulders and are doing squats. Alpha Academy comes up. Chad Gable offers to train them. They say they’ll stick with Ivy Nile. Maxxine Dupri puts over Nile’s strength, but Gable tells her not to sell herself short. Maxxine then puts Akira Tozawa on her shoulders and does some squats.
The Judgment Day’s Locker Room
Damian Priest, NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh are not happy to see R-Truth in their locker room trying to hook up an old TV monitor. Priest says he thought McDonagh was going to take care of this. R-Truth tells McDonagh that no one likes him. McDonagh reminds him that he’s not in the Judgment Day. R-Truth says they need to tighten up security in their locker room. Priest says neither Rhea Ripley nor Finn Bálor are here tonight, so they need to handle the Creed Brothers.
In the arena, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance make their entrance.

Tag Team Match
Kayden Carter and Katana Chance vs. Natalya and Tegan Nox
Natalya quickly tags in and hits Chance with a military press powerslam for a two-count. Carter tags in and flips Chance onto Natalya for a two-count. Chance’s knee landed on Natalya’s jaw. Carter dropkicks Chance into Natalya. Chance throws Natalya down. Carter tags in and takes Natalya down. Natalya easily kicks her away and tags Tegan Nox in. Nox runs wild on Chance and Carter. Carter gets out of a vertical suplex and kicks Nox in the head. Nox sidesteps Chance and elbows her. Nox hits a cannonball in the corner. Nox comes up short on a Molly-Go-Round on Carter. Chance, who blind-tagged in, attacks Nox. Natalya tags in. Chance avoids a Discus Clothesline and hits a Codebreaker. Carter tags in. They put Natalya on the top rope, but Natalya hits Chance and Carter with a double powerbomb for a near fall. Chance and Carter nearly clunked heads on the landing. Natalya attacks Carter, but Carter rolls through and kicks her in the jaw. Chance tags in and they hit the Kickstand for the win.

Chelsea Green is not happy and gets on the apron to voice her displeasure. Green is soon knocked off the apron.
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes is walking backstage. We’ll hear from him next.

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes responds to Shinsuke Nakamura
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring. He is dressed to compete. Replays are shown of Shinsuke Nakamura spitting Red Mist into Rhodes’s eyes last week on Raw.
The crowd buzzes and chants for Rhodes. Rhodes says the first time he laid eyes on the Poison Mist, he was a little boy. Rhodes was terrified of the man who did it, The Great Muta. Now that he’s experienced it last week, his fears were justified. Rhodes is not pointing fingers or casting blame. If there’s anyone to blame, it’s him. Rhodes should have paid attention to the hints Nakamura was dropping constantly. Rhodes should have known he’d have a target on his back for his big aspirations and declaring himself for the 2024 Royal Rumble. Nakamura has his attention, as well as the crowd’s. There are two things they can do. Nakamura can emerge from the shadows and explain himself, or he can march down here, and they can fight right now.
Rhodes waits for Nakamura, but he doesn’t show. Rhodes says he had a feeling, but the lights go out except for a spotlight in the center of the ring.
Shinsuke Nakamura appears on the titantron. Nakamura says he made Rhodes’s eyes burn last week, but tonight he will open them. Nakamura will show Rhodes what he isn’t seeing. The path they’ve taken is the same story. Nakamura climbed the mountain (footage is shown of Nakamura winning the 2018 Royal Rumble, followed by Rhodes winning the 2023 Royal Rumble). They both lost their opportunities. Nakamura fell into a bottomless pit. They suffered the same humiliation, a fall from grace with pages left unwritten. The devil in your mind whispers you’ll never make it back there. Now Rhodes has awoken him. Nakamura wants to unburden Rhodes. Nakamura will take the story off Rhodes’s hands. Nakamura never got to finish his story, so he will finish Rhodes’s.
Rhodes stands in the ring and turns quickly to see if Nakamura is there. Rhodes says he appreciates Nakamura explaining why he attacked him. Rhodes doesn’t rate or respect Nakamura. It’s never been part of Rhodes’s story to run away from a fight. If Nakamura thinks he’s the same, he can prove it.
Replays are shown of Sami Zayn tweaking his ankle in a match against Drew McIntyre, ultimately costing him the match. After, McIntyre would viciously attack him backstage.
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce’s Office
Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is on the phone. “Main Event” Jey Uso walks in and asks about Sami Zayn. Pearce says they’re still waiting to hear. Jey says this Drew McIntyre issue needs to be solved. Pearce says this is the biggest night of Jey’s career and needs to focus on that. Jey gets fired up and heads off.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther walks in and has a few ideas for Pearce.
In the arena, NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh of the Judgment Day make their entrances. They’ll face the Creed Brothers next.

Tag Team Match
The Judgment Day (NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh) vs. The Creed Brothers (Brutus and Julius Creed) w/ Ivy Nile
Brutus Creed starts against Dominik Mysterio. Brutus takes him down twice. Brutus holds him up and marches around the ring with Mysterio in the vertical suplex position. Julius tags in and has Mysterio handed off to him. Julius marches around with Dominik, still in the vertical suplex position. Julius finally takes Dominik down with the suplex. Mysterio quickly tags JD McDonagh in. Julis takes him down and tags Brutus in. Brutus hits a fireman’s carry takedown and hits a fireman’s carry into the corner. Brutus sends him into the ropes and hits a back body drop. McDonagh quickly boots him back, but Brutus takes him down with another fireman’s carry.
R-Truth has made his way to ringside.
The Creed Brothers continue to take it to McDonagh for a two-count. Brutus attacks McDonagh. Mysterio blind tags in. McDonagh pulls the top rope down to get Brutus out of the ring. Mysterio blindsides Julius off the apron. McDonagh then takes out the Creed Brothers with an Asai Moonsault.
-Commercial Break-
Back from the break, we see Mysterio going for the Three Amigos on Brutus. 1 Amigo… 2 Amigos… but Brutus powers out of a third one and hits a vertical suplex.
Julius and McDonagh tag in. Julius takes McDonagh and Mysterio down. Julius hits McDonagh and Mysterio with a plethora of overhead belly-to-belly suplexes, each followed by a kip-up! Julius grabs them both, but they fight him off. Julius puts McDonagh in the corner and sends Mysterio out of the ring. Julius powers out of a poisonrana and gets him on his shoulders. Brutus goes for a Brutus Ball, but Mysterio pulls him down. McDonagh hits Julius with a poisonrana.
Mysterio tags in, and McDonagh takes a nasty landing with a somersault senton on Brutus. Mysterio hits Julius with a 619 for a near fall. McDonagh tags in, who has to be feeling a little sore. Julius hits McDonagh and Mysterio with a dual northern lights suplex. Julius gets fired up. Brutus tags in and pounces Mysterio over the commentary table. In the ring, Julius powers McDonagh onto his shoulders. The Creed Brothers hit the Brutus Ball for the win.

Backstage Segment
World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins is getting ready when Raw General Manager Adam Pearce walks up to him. Pearce says he wanted to tell Rollins he invited CM Punk to be here last week and wants him to sign a Raw contract. Rollins cackles. When Punk shows his true colors, and it blows up in Pearce’s face, Pearce will stay out of his way when he does what he has to do. Right now, he has to focus on “Main Event” Jey Uso. Jey Uso walks up and says it took him 15 years to get this opportunity. This is his night. Rollins is looking at the new World Heavyweight Champion. Rollins laughs and says he feels him, but he’ll Stomp his face into the mat the first chance he gets. Jey says he’ll kick his face off the first chance he gets. Rollins says this is as friendly as they’ll be. Jey says this is his night.
“Main Event” Jey Uso makes his entrance. He’ll face Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship next.

Backstage Segment
NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh are recovering backstage when Damian Priest walks up to them. McDonagh wanted to blame the loss on R-Truth, but Mysterio shuts that down. Mysterio says the Creed Brothers are the real deal. Priest and Finn Bálor need to watch out. Priest tells them to go get cleaned up.
Next week on Raw, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes will battle Shinsuke Nakamura. CM Punk will also return to the show.
World Heavyweight Championship
“Main Event” Jey Uso vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins (c)
Jey Uso is dedicating this match to his uncle, the late, great Eddie “Umaga” Fatu, who passed away on this date 14 years ago.
The bell rings, and they lock up before giving a clean break. Rollins soon grabs the arm and wrenches it. Jey transitions into a waistlock, but Rollins quickly hooks a side headlock. Jey whips him off, but Rollins shoulder tackles him and covers for a no-count. Jey hooks a side headlock, but Rollins whips him off and shoulder tackles him for a one-count. Rollins soon attempts a Stomp, but Jey moves and rolls him up for a two-count. We’re at a stalemate as Rollins and Jey stare each other down.
-Commercial Break-
We come back from the break to see Rollins laying Jey out on the apron and hitting a running boot to the head. Rollins hits a springboard senton bomb, followed by a Lionsault for a near fall. Rollins pulls Jey to his feet and chops the chest. Rollins hits a snapmare and kicks Jey in the back. Rollins connects with a back suplex for a two-count. A “CM Punk” chant picks up a bit. Rollins gets to his feet and pulls Jey up. Jey blocks a back suplex, so Rollins clubs away at the spine. Jey flips through a back suplex and hits a back suplex into a neckbreaker for a two-count.
Rollins is wobbling on his feet. Jey punches him to the corner and lifts him for a backbreaker for a two-count. Jey is targeting the chronically injured back of Rollins. Jey charges Rollins, but Rollins drops him on the apron. Jey rebounds with a kick to the face and goes to the top rope. Rollins quickly drops Jey with a step-up enzuigiri. Jey lands on the apron. Rollins goes for a Pedigree on the apron, but Jey lifts Rollins up. Rollins slides off and goes for a powerbomb. Rollins pulls him down and goes for a Buckle Bomb into the barricade, but Jey fights out. Jey then drops the World Heavyweight Champion with a DDT on the floor!
-Commercial Break-
Back from the final break of the evening, Rollins and Jey are exchanging punches before Rollins clotheslines him over the top rope. Rollins hits a suicide dive and gets in the ring for another, but Jey follows him in. Jey clotheslines Rollins over the top rope and hits Rollins with a suicide dive. Jey gets in the ring and misses a pair of clotheslines. Both men wipe each other out with stereo running cross-body blocks.
They soon get up, but Jey lays in some right hands. The champion is on wobbly legs, but he doesn’t go down. Rollins quickly strikes away at Jey and clotheslines him down. A “CM Punk” chant picks up. Rollins hits Jey with a running forearm. Jey avoids a second one and kicks him in the midsection. Jey takes his shirt off and uppercuts Rollins. Jey hits an enzuigiri that knocks Rollins into the corner. Jey hits a running hip attack, paying homage to Umaga. Jey goes to the top rope, but he jumps over Rollins as he charges. Rollins connects with a Sling Blade and goes to the top rope for a Frog Splash. Rollins picks up a near fall.
Both men take a moment to collect themselves. Rollins sizes Jey up and kicks him in the midsection before hooking the arms. Jey hits a back body drop to get out of the Pedigree and covers him for a two-count. They trade superkicks, and Jey comes out on top. Jey immediately goes to the top rope and hits an Uso Splash for a near fall!
Jey goes to the apron and pulls himself to the top rope again. Rollins meets him up there, hits a superplex, and rolls into a falcon arrow for a near fall. Rollins immediately follows up with a Pedigree for a near fall. Rollins is fired up and waits for Jey to get up. Jey avoids a Stomp and catches Rollins with a Spear for a near fall! Jey cannot believe it. Jey sets up for a second Spear, but Rollins kicks him and hits a Buckle Bomb. Rollins hits the ropes, but Jey catches him with a Spear from out of nowhere! Jey flies up to the top rope and hits an Uso Splash! 1… 2… Rollins kicks out! The crowd is stunned!
Jey looks down at Rollins, who is on his knees and sneering at him. Jey superkicks him and hits the ropes for a Spear, but Rollins intercepts him with a Pedigree! Rollins follows up with a Spear to retain the title.
Winner by Pinfall and still World Heavyweight Champion: Seth “Freakin” Rollins
Rollins pulls Jey to his feet before celebrating in the ring. Jey rolls out of the ring to give Rollins the spotlight. All of a sudden, Drew McIntyre absolutely annihilates Jey Uso with a Claymore Kick from out of nowhere! Rollins goes for a suicide dive to attack McIntyre, but McIntyre catches him and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on the floor! McIntyre immediately clears the commentary table and hits Jey with a release vertical suplex through it! McIntyre stands over the broken Jey Uso and shouts, “And the truth shall set you free!”
