The show opens with a video package looking at last night’s Money in the Bank PPV.

The Authority is out first to kick off the show. Stephanie McMahon says it is good to be back home and talks about being born in Hartford. She talks about Daniel Bryan’s recovery taking longer and how they are in the business of making history. Stephanie pumps up Seth Rollins winning the “Money in the Bank” briefcase last night. Triple H calls Seth Rollins the future of WWE. He talks about John Cena becoming the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and calls him an A+ player and introduces him as a 15-time champion.

New WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena heads down the ramp with the titles hanging around his neck. Stephanie goes to talk when Cena cuts her off. Cena reiterates what Daniel Bryan said last night about coming back better than ever. He confirms that when Bryan is healthy, he will happily give him a shot at the title. Stephanie calls that offer “very special.” She reveals that Cena will be on the cover of the new WWE 2K15 video game. A banner drops above the ring showing Cena on the cover. Stephanie seems happy and starts dancing to Cena’s music that plays. “It looks beautiful doesn’t it? Congratulations John, it looks amazing,” adds Stephanie. Cena thanks them, but said this isn’t right. He said they are being way too nice way too soon. Cena said the second the match ended last night, he saw a different look on the faces of Triple H and Stephanie.

He has a graphic shown of how upset they were last night. Stephanie said that is out of context and that they were concerned for Randy Orton. Cena calls the smiles phony, they don’t control him and “the champ is here.” Triple H mocks Cena saying he knows they are close to West Newbury. Cena offers to kick his ass. Triple H tells him to calm down and says he isn’t bothered he is the champion…”as long as you do it with some respect.” He said all of this can go away like that and Cena can do things “the easy way or do it the hard way.” Cena refuses to be a stooge and will do it the hard way. Triple H says hard way it shall be. He announces that at Battleground, Cena will defend his title in a Fatal Four Way match. Cena wants to know who is in. Triple H says two of the guys in it he will face tonight – Randy Orton and Kane. He adds that Cena will have a partner tonight that will be the fourth man in that title match – Roman Reigns. “Enjoy your moment John. Enjoy all of it. It goes by fast.”

As Cena heads to the back, Triple H tells Cena to hold on. He says that if somehow Cena survives at Battleground, a Plan B will always exist. Seth Rollins then walks out holding his new “Money in the Bank” briefcase. Rollins holds up his briefcase with Triple H and Stephanie. Rollins is in action next.

-Commercial Break-

Seth Rollins vs. Rob Van Dam

Rollins bails early on when he is tossed out by RVD. RVD with elbows when Rollins gets back in. Rollins bails again when RVD kicks him away. Back in the ring, RVD catches Rollins with a kick to the head. RVD with shots to Rollins in the corner and follows with a standing moonsault. Rollins with a clothesline to RVD on the outside.

-Commercial Break-

Back live and RVD with some big rights to Rollins. Rollins with a takedown into a half Boston Crab. RVD flips out of the submission. RVD drops Rollins with a quick superkick and follows with Rolling Thunder for a two count. RVD connects with a split leg moonsault in the corner. Rollins favors his lower back, gets RVD up for a powerbomb and RVD flips forward in a huricanrana sending Rollins face first into the corner. RVD goes up top and Rollins rolls out. RVD turns and takes out Rollins on the floor instead. Rollins locks up the leg/ankle of RVD in the ropes and twists his leg into the ropes with force. Rollins hits the ropes and connects with his Curb Stomp. Rollins hooks the leg and gets the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After the match, Renee Young is in the ring with a mic. Seth Rollins holds up his briefcase and says it isn’t arrogance if he can back it up. He calls the fans bitter and said his briefcase is his golden ticket. Dean Ambrose interrupts Rollins on the tron. Ambrose said it took Kane to put him out last night. He said it he isn’t upset “because it might be more fun this way.” Ambrose says he will haunt Rollins each time he decides to cash in that briefcase. “Every time you try to cash that in it’s going to blow up in your face Seth!”

Later tonight, John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Kane.

Rusev is out next with Lana. She calls Rusev’s last opponent (Big E) a failure and that America is used to failure. The crowd starts a USA chant and Lana tells them to shut up. Lana says they lie to their children calling America the greatest nation in the world. “No one can stop the onslaught of Russia. No one can stop the onslaught of Rusev. Who will be America’s next failure to compete against Rusev?”

Jack Swagger is out next with Zeb Colter. Swagger and Zeb get in the ring. Zeb says he is sick and tired of Lana slamming America. He tells them to shut the hell up. Zeb says the only reason Lana is able to do that is something called freedom of speech. He brings up how they couldn’t go to Russia to spew the pack of lies they say about America. Zeb says he knows something that can stop Rusev – a “Real American” named Jack Swagger. He wants them next to hear every Real American rise and say, “We…the…people!”

Very loud “LETS GO SWAGGER” chant starts up. Swagger with two huge arm drags on Rusev. Rusev bails and is screaming at how upset he is. Lana is trying to calm him down and head to the back. Swagger continues to stare down both fired up.

Up next, WWE U.S. Champion Sheamus and WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Wyatt Family.

Sheamus and The Usos vs. The Wyatt Family

Jey Uso and Erick Rowan start. The Usos with some double team shots on Rowan and send him over the top rope.

-Commercial Break-

Back live, Rowan is working over the head of Jimmy Uso who now has the tag. Rowan with big rights to Jimmy. Tag to Bray Wyatt who splashes Jimmy in the corner. Tag to Luke Harper who chops the chest of Jimmy. Jimmy fights back with a series of boots and a top rope corkscrew moonsault on Harper. Tags to Sheamus and Rowan. Sheamus with sledgehammer shots. High running knee by Sheamus to Rowan. Sheamus sends Rowan to the ring apron, pulls his arms back and starts to drop his forearm shots to the chest. Harper pulls Rowan down to break it up. Sheamus goes up top and jumps to the outside taking out Rowan and Harper. Back in the ring, Sheamus plants Rowan with a scoop slam. Rowan tosses Sheamus over the top rope with a distraction from Wyatt. Harper gets the tag and takes out Sheamus with a big boot on the outside. Tag to Wyatt who splashes over Sheamus back in the ring. Tag to Rowan who gives Sheamus a quick scoop slam, hits the ropes and connects with a splash. Rowan works over the head of Sheamus on the mat. Tag to Wyatt as Rowan works over Sheamus in the corner. Wyatt eats a boot from Sheamus when he charges the corner. Wyatt responds with a huge right hand on Sheamus that sends Sheamus to the outside. Wyatt leads the Hartford crowd in singing. Tag to Harper who chops Sheamus over the announce table. Back in the ring, Harper catches Sheamus with a superkick. Hot tag to Jey who dropkicks Harper out of the ring. Jey leaps over the top rope and takes out Harper. Jey tosses Harper back in and connects with a kick to the head. Jey follows with a huge superkick. Rowan breaks up the pinfall. Sheamus with a Brogue Kick to Rowan. Jimmy leaps over the top rope and takes out Rowan. Wyatt then plants Sheamus and avoids a superkick from Jey. Harper with a huge clothesline on Jey. Harper gets the pinfall.

Winners: The Wyatt Family

Backstage, Tom Philips is with Nikki Bella. Stephanie interrupts and says The Bella’s have a match with The Funkadactyls next. She then remembers that Brie was fired so Nikki will have to take them on in a handicap match.

They tease that a former WWE Champion is in the house tonight.

-Commercial Break-

Bo Dallas is out next. He asks the WWE fans to join him in 60 seconds of silence for two great superstars who are unable to compete: Bad News Barrett and Daniel Bryan. Bo takes a knee and bows his head. He takes a legit 60 seconds. “I was the voice of inspiration last night for Daniel Bryan. And I was also the bigger man.” We see footage from the Money in the Bank kickoff show featuring Daniel Bryan. Back live, he tells the audience to never stop bo-lieving.

Handicap Divas Match
Nikki Bella vs. The Funkadactyls

We start with Cameron and Nikki Bella. Cameron drops Nikki on the mat using her hair. Nikki with an elbow and knee to the face combo on Cameron. Cameron kicks Nikki away. Naomi tags herself in and nails Nikki with a kick to the head. Naomi with a big cross body off the top turnbuckle catching Nikki. Naomi drops Nikki on the back of her head and gets the pinfall.

Winners: The Funkadactyls

After the match, Cameron gets in Naomi’s face. Cameron pushes her and goes to leave. Naomi pushes Cameron back. They stare each other down and Cameron leaves.

Up next, a medical update on Bad News Barrett and the status of the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

-Commercial Break-

Footage is shown from Smackdown of the separated shoulder that Bad News Barrett suffered. Michael Cole said Barrett will be out of action for many months and that means the WWE Intercontinental Championship is now vacant. He announces that at Battleground, a Battle Royal will take place to crown a new champion.

Paul Heyman is out now. He talks about the great news of the WWE Intercontinental Championship being declared vacant. Heyman proclaims his client the No. 1 seed for that Battle Royal, Cesaro.

Cesaro vs. Kofi Kingston

Cesaro with a big gutwrench powerbomb on Kingston early. Kington with a big cross body and then tosses Cesaro through the ropes to the outside. Kingston then fires back with a huge flip over the top rope taking out Cesaro. Back in the ring, Cesaro catches Kingston while he executed a springboard jump and then drops him over his knee. Cesaro catches Kingston with a big elbow and then drops some right hands as Heyman smiles from the outside. Cesaro then jumps and lands on the chest of Kingston. Cesaro locks the legs of Kingston and refuses to do the Cesaro Swing as the fans boo. Cesaro stomps over Kingston. Kingston with a huricanrana into a pinfall for a close two count.

-Commercial Break-

We are back live and we see that Kingston won the match.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

Michael Cole said the rest of the match was an exclusive for the WWE App. After the match, Cesaro attacks Kingston giving him a big uppercut as Kingston jumped off the steel steps. Cesaro then launches Kingston over the announce table. Cesaro then launches Kingston into the crowd. Lawler said Michael Cole appears to be hurt. Cesaro tosses Kingston into the barricade. Cesaro then tosses Kingston back to the ringside area. Cesaro pulls the arms of Kingston bring Kingston’s chest into the steel ring post repeatedly. Cesaro with a huge clothesline on Kingston. WWE referees run down and send Cesaro to the back. We then see how Kingston won the match with a roll up.

Backstage, Santino is upset no one came to his party. Adam Rose shows up with the Rosebuds to promote Twisted Tea.

Back at ringside, Cole is recovering at the announce table. They plug a tweet from Hulk Hogan to John Cena congratulating him on becoming the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Later tonight, John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Kane.

Back live, Vince McMahon’s music hits. It turns out to be Damien Sandow dressed as Vince. Sandow introduces himself as Vincent Kennedy McMahondow. He announces he will enter himself into the Battleground Battle Royal to crown a new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Stephanie interrupts Sandow asking who the hell he thinks he is. He said her father is the only reason he has a job. “My father has built this business by toppling giants. So tonight Damien, you will have the same opportunity.” She announces his opponent tonight will also be in the Battle Royal at Battleground. The Great Khali walks out.

The Great Khali vs. Vincent Kennedy McMahondow (Damien Sandow)

The bell rings and Khali chops McMahondow immediately. Khali hooks the leg for the win.

Winner: The Great Khali

We go backstage to see a limo door being opened. It’s the former WWE Champion inside that WWE has been teasing who returns next.

Justin Roberts welcomes back to Monday Night RAW, the former WWE Champion and cross platform multimedia superstar…

A movie trailer preview plays. It’s The Miz. “I’m back! Miss me?” He talks about being gone for four months to shoot “The Marine 4.” Miz said he was begged to stay in Hollywood and that he was better than the WWE. He said he is back because of the fans. Miz talks about how the WWE Universe takes him for granted and sees him as a fluke. He says the fans are wrong and he is the A-lister that can do anything and everything. Miz said he won’t leave WWE until he is main eventing once again. He said the fans will be begging him not to go.

Chris Jericho’s pyro goes off and music hits interrupting The Miz. We see the glowing jacket. Chris Jericho is back. Big reaction in Hartford for the return of Jericho. A loud “Y2J” chant starts up. Miz motions to quiet the crowd down. “You got something to say Chris? Did you come out here to give me a lifetime achievement award?” Miz mocks Jericho calling him 2012 Jericho with his “stupid lite-brite jacket.” He tells Jericho how dare you for interrupting me. Jericho then gives Miz a Codebreaker to fire up the crowd in Hartford.

Jericho grabs the mic saying, “Damn that felt good! Did that feel good? I have been waiting a long time to say these words and I’m going to say them right here right now tonight…welcome to…RAW…is…” The lights go out and The Wyatt Family are now in the ring surrounding Jericho. Bray Wyatt is staring down Jericho. They go after Jericho and beat him down. Rowan and Harper double team Jericho. Rowan with a splash and Harper with a big boot on Jericho. Wyatt leans back in the corner, grabs Jericho and connects with Sister Abigail. Wyatt lets out a “follow the buzzards” laughing.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro headlines tomorrow night’s 7/1 WWE Main Event.

Fandango vs. Dolph Ziggler

Ziggler takes Fandango off his feet early with a big dropkick. Fandango fires back sending Ziggler to the corner. Fandango drops Ziggler face first off the mat and then gives a kiss to Layla on the ring apron. Fandango eats a boot and jumping clothesline from Ziggler. Ziggler with rights to Fandango in the corner and follows with a neckbreaker. Summer Rae walks in the ring and kisses Ziggler. Ziggler grabs Summer and kisses her more. Fandango asks what she is doing and is upset. Ziggler with the Zig Zag and gets the pinfall.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

After the match, we see a shot of an upset Layla at ringside.

Later tonight, John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Kane.

Footage is shown of Vickie Guerrero being fired last week.

Ryback and Curtis Axel vs. Goldust and Stardust

The bell rings and Ryback knocks Stardust out and Curtis Axel goes after Goldust. Goldust with an atomic drop and uppercut combo to Axel. Ryback takes out Goldust with a forearm shot to the lower back as he gets the tag. Ryback with a snap suplex on Goldust. Ryback with shoulder charges to Goldust in the corner. Ryback with a fallaway slam on Goldust. Goldust catches Ryback with a big spinebuster. Tag to Stardust who levels Axel with some flying clothesline shots. Axel crashes and burns in the corner and Stardust connects with a jumping sledgehammer shot to the head. Stardust with a quick DDT to Axel and then catches Ryback with a springboard clothesline. Stardust with a reverse russian leg sweep dropping Axel off the mat face first. Stardust gets the pinfall.

Winners: Goldust and Stardust

WWE Divas Paige is headed to the ring next.

Back live, WWE Divas Champion Paige is on her way out to the ring. She grabs the mic holding her WWE Divas Championship. Paige knows some people out there think she doesn’t deserve to be champion and that she should move back down to NXT. “I feel like in the past three months that I deserve to be here and I have proven I am here to stay.”

AJ Lee is back as her music hits. AJ comes skipping back down the ring. AJ gets in the ring and grabs a mic. A loud “CM PUNK” chant starts up. AJ said she wanted to come out and say that Paige is right. She proved her wrong, the first woman to do that in over a year. AJ said she let success go to her head – even though she was the longest reigning Divas Champion of all time. She thought she was untouchable and Paige gave her a slap of reality. AJ thanks Paige and congratulates her. Paige said she isn’t stupid and won’t make the same mistake AJ did. Another loud “CM PUNK” chant. Paige doesn’t think anyone wants her to defend her title tonight. AJ says why don’t they let the fans decide asking if they want to see a championship rematch right now. The fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” in Hartford. Paige agrees.

The bell rings and AJ jumps on Paige landing some rights. Paige throws her off and lands a big kick on AJ. Paige with big headbutts to AJ. Paige with a quick clothesline. AJ with a big slap, roll up and gets the pinfall on Paige!

Winner and NEW WWE Divas Champion: AJ Lee

After the match, AJ Lee rolls out and holds up the WWE Divas Championship. Paige can’t believe it. AJ skips around the ring holding up the title. She gets to the top of the ramp and drops to her knees laughing clutching the title.

Up next, John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Kane.

Sheamus’ 4th of July WWE United States Championship Challenge takes place on Smackdown this Friday night on Syfy.

Back live, Triple H has joined commentary at ringside.

John Cena and Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Kane

We start with John Cena and Randy Orton. Orton with a headlock and shoulder block on Cena. Tag to Roman Reigns. Orton tags in Kane. Kane and Reigns exchange right hands. Reigns tosses Kane over the top rope.

-Commercial Break-

Back live, Orton is now in working over Reigns with a headlock. We see during the break that Orton leveled Reigns with a huge dropkick. Orton drops a big knee over the head of Reigns. Kane gets the tag and connects with a quick uppercut to Reigns. Quick tag back to Orton who hits a quick kick and snapmare into a headlock on Reigns. Reigns with a jumping clothesline and splash in the corner to Orton. Reigns drops Orton with a big right. Kane drops down to prevent a kick from Reigns to Orton. Reigns drives Kane into the ring barricade. Orton with a clothesline to Reigns on the outside. Kane gets the tag and drops Reigns back in the ring with a clothesline. Cena is fired up wanting a tag as Kane tries to keep Reigns grounded. Reigns explodes out of the corner with a clothesline. Tag to Orton who cuts off Reigns with a stomp to prevent a hot tag to Cena. Tag ot Kane who connects with a big right to Reigns. Kane splashes Reigns in the corner and then eats a boot from Reigns. Reigns with a big right. Kane with a big right. Reigns with a samoan drop on Kane. Hot tag to Cena. Cena with a shoulder block to Orton many times and follows with his twisting powerbomb. Cena connects with Five Knuckle Shuffle on Orton. Cena has Orton up for the AA. Orton fights out and tags in Kane. Cena with his twisting drop on Kane. Five Knuckle Shuffle on Kane. Orton is back in and connects with an RKO on Cena. Reigns tosses Orton out. Reigns with a Superman punch on Kane. Reigns goes after Orton on the outside. Reigns with a headbutt and Orton with rights. Reigns and Orton brawl to the backstage area. At ringside, Kane sends Cena shoulder first into the steel steps. Kane picks up the bottom of the steel steps and hits Cena in the head. The referee calls for the bell.

Winners via DQ: John Cena and Roman Reigns

After the match, Kane tosses Cena back in the ring. Triple H shouts at ringside, “Finish it. Finish it Kane!” Kane picks up Cena and connects with the Tombstone Piledriver. Triple H gets up on the ring apron standing near Kane. WWE’s doctor gets in the ring to check on Cena along with the referee. Triple H leans down and also checks on Cena. We see Triple H motion to have someone come out.

Seth Rollins’ music hits and he is walking down with the “Money in the Bank” briefcase in hand. Rollins and Triple H are yelling at the referee to start the match. Kane and Triple H confront the referees at ringside to ring the bell when Dean Ambrose runs out. Ambrose attacks Rollins. Rollins bails. Ambrose chases Rollins into the crowd. They brawl to the back. Triple H calls the referee an idiot at ringside. Kane grabs a steel chair and Triple H grabs Rollins’ “Money in the Bank” briefcase. Reigns runs back out and levels Kane with a spear. Triple H is standing on the ring apron holding the briefcase staring down Reigns. Triple H and Reigns continue to have a stare down. Triple H then slowly jumps down off the ring apron and backs up. Reigns’ music hits as Triple H circles the ring and heads toward the entrance area as the show comes to a close.
