Are you ready? Then stop questioning your heart because it’s time for ECW!

The show opens up with Finlay and ‘swoggle walking around backstage. They run into a very greenly dressed Teddy Long. Finlay says that there are two things Finlays do on St. Patrick’s Day, and that’s wrestle and celebrate! They both soon realize that little Hornswoggle has disappeared.

Christian & MVP v. Shelton & Mark Henry

MVP and Shelton start things off as Shelton goes bouncing off the ropes but MVP decks him and hits a running knee drop. Shelton gets to his feet and backs MVP into the corner. He drives his shoulder time after time into MVP and then hits the happy time kick, which he follows up with the big time drop.

We come back and Mark Henry is giving MVP a great big hug. Henry drops the Valuable Player [some would say ?Most?] and tags in Shelton. Shelton slams MVP to the mat and then locks in a chin hold from the rear. MVP is able to get to his feet, but Shelton whips him to the corner and brings him down with a knee to the gut. Shelton charges at MVP and gets tossed overhead for his efforts. Christian gets the hot tag!

Christian comes into the ring with all barrels blazing. He hits a couple of punches, dodges a roundhouse kick, and then hits a reverse neck breaker. Shelton gets tossed to the corner and Christian hits his seesaw kick. Striker for some reason puts over the Jonas brothers, and the match carries on.

Christian has the momentum flowing and Mark Henry attempts to come into the ring, but Christian and MVP together pull him out of the ring. Shelton uses the distraction to hit Pay Dirt on Christian, and gets the pin!

Winners via Pay Dirt: Shelton & Mark Henry

Historic Wrestlemania throwback ? Wrestlemania XX [sans Benoit] Recap

Jamie Noble v. Evan Bourne

Evan comes out to the ring, to quite the reception. Jamie Noble goes immediately for Evan’s right ankle but Evan jumps back up. Noble goes to work with a couple punches to the back of Bourne’s neck. Evan Bourne gets in his first offense with a couple of quick kicks. Evan’s momentum is delayed however as Noble gets back on top with several kicks and locks on a headlock of sorts.

Evan Bourne gets out of the hold and hits a very strong elbow to the face. Evan hits a hurricarana, then a standing moonsault! Evan hits an Enziguiri while Jamie Noble is in the corner. Noble is laid out and Evan sees his opportunity and heads to the top rope! Here it comes ? Shooting Star Press!

Video Recap of the Edge/Cena/Big Show drama

Paul Burchill w/ Katie Lea v. Finlay w/ Hornswoggle

Finlay is quick on the offense with a couple of kicks and a strong Irish clothesline. Burchill is hit with a modified backbreaker and Hornswoggle is drunkenly laughing on the announcer’s table. Finlay tosses Burchill out of the ring and then follows after. Burchill rams Finlay’s back into the apron and then rolls him back into the ring. Burchill goes for a pin, but no luck.

Burchill gets behind Finlay and grips him with a headlock. Finlay hits a jawbreaker, or perhaps a McStunner [I?ll leave the verdict up to you]. Finlay rolls out of the ring and Burchill tries to follow after but is met with the ring apron, crotch first. Finlay is back in the ring and hits the Pot ?o Gold. Finlay has the luck of the Irish on his side and hits the Celtic Cross!

We are back and in the ring is team MizMo with a live edition of the ?Dirt Sheet?. They are joined on this evening by their so-called girlfriends, the Bella Twins! The twins are with MizMo, because they are winners. See relationships nowadays are so tricky, why can?t they all be this simple.

They welcome their guests for night ? The Colon Brothers! The put on their butt masks and do a brief rap about the brothers. Carlito and Primo make their way down to the ring with their own set. Carlito wants to have a Cabana, and say that The Miz & Morrison are in fact their guests. Carlito proposes a unification match for the Tag Titles at Wrestlemania!!

MizMo agrees and throws down their catch phrase ?be jealous?. Carlito & Primo attempt to spit in the face of those who don?t want to be cool, but accidentally hit the Bella Twins! Apparently one of the Bella Twins isn?t feeling Miz and Morrison and joins forces with The Colons. We get a little incestuous catfight and this closes out ECW!

ECW Thoughts

You ever have those nights when you could almost comprehend the joys of picking strawberries but then you feel bad for those who are colorblind and have troubles picking them? Well tonight’s ECW was NOTHING like that.

Let’s start in reverse order. Miz & Morrison had a nice little segment with the Colon Brothers. Now, I personally am really not a fan of the whole butt mask humor, however you gotta appreciate the awesomeness of this feud. I?m personally really stoked for the unification of the Tag Titles. Sadly it may signal the last days of MizMo on ECW if they win the belts.

I was a bit surprised Finlay v. Burchill was as much of a squash as it was. That being said I?m willing to ignore it under the concession that tonight is still St. Patrick’s Day and Finlay is probably expressing his joy that there are no snakes in his homeland [that’s a historical reference for ya]. Also, I would like to put out an open invitation for Hornswoggle to be drunk every single week ? I truly love the lil? rascal.

Evan Bourne is back, and in force! There was one hurricarana that looked a little rusty, but for the most part he had lots of pop. The crowd was over thrilled with his return. I?m definitely a fan of the fact that Jamie Noble was given some credit in this match as well. Both men came out looking strong.

I?m going to be honest and say that I kind of glossed over the opening match. There was some nice build up for the ladder match, so it sufficed. I didn?t feel myself shouting ?Extreme Charisma Wrestling? when Christian was on tonight, but he served his purpose. Honestly though, who else is antsy to see The World’s Strongest Man climb The World’s Strongest Ladder to try and claim The World’s Briefest Briefcase?!?
