ECW Thoughts

An interesting night in ECW to be sure. I do apologize for missing the opening match but the cookie just wasn?t crumbling my way tonight. The main event of the evening is worth noting for what is most likely Zack Ryder’s face turn. Now, I thought that we were getting that with what happened last week, but instead they played it off and he seemed to be going along with Regal’s instructions. Ryder has shown that he has no interest in listening to others that want to put their interests above his own. It will be interesting to see where the angle takes him because his gimmick is made specifically to draw as much heat as possible. Everything from his attire to demeanor so I?ll be watching with interest as he makes the transition.

The Hurricane and Burchill match was certainly lacking tonight. In many ways it felt like matches I?ve seen between student wrestlers that were taking extra care in setting up their spots and moves. Now obviously these two are quite experienced and have worked with each other before so I?m not sure as to the reasoning of the awkwardness. I would also like to point out that after praising Katie Lea’s eye makeup for the past couple weeks it seemed to be a bit weird tonight. Go back to the awesome style you had last week and leave the extreme designs to Sara Del Ray.

The Bella Twins have been officially removed from ECW thanks to the trades and acquisitions that went down last night. Makes perfect sense considering the fact that they haven?t had anything to do in quite some time on the show. I only wish that they had moved Katie Lea as well so as to let her actually wrestle. They are leaving the title scene in the air right now so we?ll just have to wait to see what is in store for the ECW belt.
