After being gone for several months, Drew McIntyre returned on Friday’s taped episode of WWE SmackDown, attempting to cause dissention between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, after Cody defeated Orton in the King of the Ring Finals at Night of Champions.
The segment ended with Orton hitting McIntyre with an RKO in the ring. This set of a match between the two and next weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will air live coast-to-coast on NBC and Peacock, beginning at 8:00 pm ET.
McIntyre last competed on the May 24 Saturday Night’s Main Event special, where he lost to Damian Priest in a Steel Cage Match.
