In an interview with Pundit Arena, Dominik Mysterio talked about Survivor Series coming to his hometown of San Diego, in the city’s first premium live event since One Night Stand in 2008.
I grew up in San Diego, born and raised in San Diego, California, it’s almost like my whole life. Not only is it the first since 2008, it’s a Survivor Series in a Baseball Stadium. That’s different. The first-ever wrestling event that Petco Park is going to be holding, and I’m going to be a part of it. It’s surreal, man. It’s definitely a huge blessing.
Mysterio faces John Cena for the Intercontinental Championship at the event, a rematch from the 11/10 episode of WWE Raw, and the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio noted the upcoming bout was a “huge deal” before stating a simple message for the 17-time world champion:
He’s the champ. I want some, so I’m gonna come and get some. That’s just plain and simple.
WWE Survivor Series takes place Saturday, November 29 from Petco Park in San Diego, California.
