Update on Steve Maclin following injury scare at Friday’s TNA Sacrifice

There is a positive news on Steve Maclin following an injury scare at Friday’s TNA Sacrifice.

The main event between Mike Santana and Maclin for the TNA World Championship was stopped early after Maclin was hurt after taking a superkick from Mike Santana.

According to an update from The Takedown on SI, TNA Wrestling officials evaluated Maclin for a concussion and he was sent to a local hospital for further tests. TNA president Carlos Silva told The Takedown that Maclin was not ultimately diagnosed with a concussion and was cleared all of his tests and then released to go back to his hotel for the night.

Reports at the time indicated Maclin may have suffered a concussion, but was coherent backstage and upset about how things turned out.

After Maclin took the kick and went down and Santana tried to get him up. However, referee Alice Lane put up the X sign, calling for the match to be stopped, which was then ended in a no-contest.  Eddie Edwards, who has a future TNA World Title shot ran out and brawled with Santana in order to try and give the fans something to make up for what was not expected to originally take place. Santana got the best of Edwards by putting him through a table.
