AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT Ratings: AEW wins the night despite low viewership

AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT Ratings for January 29

AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT ratings for January 29, 2020 are now in.

AEW Dynamite, going head-to-head against WWE NXT, drew an average of 828,000 viewers on Wednesday night according to a report by showbuzzdaily.com.

This is down from last week’s show that drew an average of 871,000 viewers on TNT.

Dynamite came in at No. 3 for the night on cable in the 18-49 demographics, up from No. 5 where they placed last week.

This week’s episode of NXT drew an average of 712,000 viewers on Wednesday night. This is down from last week’s show that averaged 769,000 viewers. 

NXT came in at number 37 for the night on cable in the 18-49 demographics, down from number 31 where they placed last week. This puts NXT back in the Top 50 cable programs  for the second week in a row.

In overall viewership, AEW Dynamite defeated WWE NXT the fifth head-to-head battle of 2020 in the “Wednesday Night War” by 116,000 viewers.

The NBA game between the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers on ESPN won the night on cable in the 18-49 demographic with 1.520 million viewers and a 0.49 rating. 

Sean Hannity on FOX News Channel won the night on cable in the 18-49 demographic in viewership with 4.251 million viewers and a 0.30 rating ranking at number 10.

Demographic Ratings for AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT

NXT, headlined by the announcement of Adam Cole’s opponent for NXT TakeOver: Portland, averaged a 0.22 rating among adults 18-49. This is slightly up from last week’s 0.21 rating.

AEW Dynamite, headlined by Inner Circle vs. Darby Allin and Private Party averaged a 0.34 rating among adults 18-49. This is slightly down from last week’s 0.36 rating.
