AEW reportedly not granting releases; news on Buddy Matthews and Brody King

According to a report on Tuesday from F4WOnline, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan is not granting any releases for those that have requested it.

This news comes on after Malakai Black took to Instagram Monday night, denying reports he had secured his release, including being upset of how the story was initially was reported. 

The story also comes after Buddy Matthews told fans at an independent show on Saturday he was taking time off. There was another media outlet that reportedly cited sources from AEW that said Matthews expressed dissatisfaction with AEW in recent months, and that he looked to be gone from AEW. He took to Twitter to seemingly deny those claims.

According to PWInsider, Matthews being absent from AEW for a period of time because he had to return to Australia to process paperwork for his work visa so he could continue to work in the United States.

The reports regarding Matthews have started rumors that Brody King could be leaving AEW. King took to Twitter to quickly squelch any further speculation or rumors.
