AWWW WRESTLEVIEWNIVERSE, DON’T YOU DARE BE SOUR! CLAP FOR YOUR LOCALLY WORLD FAMOUS SMACKDOWN REVIEW, AND FEEL THE POWWWWWAH!

It’s the go-home show for Payback this week on Smackdown, and your boy Alex Kahrs is ready to cover the highs and lows!

Reigns/Miz Segment: I see that Roman isn’t saying that “I’m not the good guy, etc.” line anymore. I liked it at first, but I get the feeling that could be really grating if he kept it up for more than a week. Miz quoting movies and making references is just a small part of what I’m digging about the recent heel work, and I thought this was a good way to set up the Champion vs Champion main event.

League of Nations Segment: You ever see angle coming from a mile away? That was this segment, but at least it was a good segue (not Segway) to the six man tag match. Speaking of…

League of Nations/3 Amigos: The League of Nations ended with a whimper, not a bang. Good match, though. I did like the slight change up of the usual “abandoning your partner” angle in the match, with all three of them basically giving up on the match. I’m curious to see what they do with the former League now, do they go with a triple threat of some sort later on or have them back to regular singles feuds with other Superstars?

Corbin/Sandow: I was really happy this match didn’t happen on RAW…because I knew it would go down this way on Smackdown. Pour a 40 out for the Intellectual Savior of the Masses.

Ambrose Asylum: I’m a big fan of Ambrose, but this segment wasn’t spectacular. I do like the idea of Bret and Ric in the corners of Natalya and Charlotte respectively, but something about this segment just didn’t hit the mark for me. That said, the match at Payback should be a good one!

Outcasts/Enzo & Cass: New Day is love, New Day is life. Having them on commentary? Best decision ever. Loved this match, it’s great having Enzo and Cass on the main roster. And, I love the fact the finals of this tag tournament are NXT call-ups.

Golden Truth…Stuff: As much as I can’t stand “Goldango,” I could get behind The Gorgeous Truth. In lieu of anything else to say about this angle, I’m just gonna leave this here…

Crews/Stardust: Decent match. I’m ready for Crews to get an actual feud soon, though…and maybe a name to his finisher. Crews Control, guys! Come on, it’s that easy.

Main Event: Good match, considering you know Reigns isn’t gonna lose to The Miz. I’ve really enjoyed Miz’s work recently, and even though I’m still bummed Ryder never got more than just a “Wrestlemania moment” with the IC title, Miz is a great fit right now. The angle featuring the former Bullet Club has been interesting, as well. I’m holding out hope that Payback will be a great match between Styles and Reigns.

Well, that’s it for Smackdown! What did you think of the show? Where does the former League of Nations go from here? What’s the over/under on Finn Balor showing up at Payback? Let me know in the comments, or send me a tweet @Power2TheSmarks! Until next time, this is Alex Kahrs reminding you to be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes!
