Report: New WWE HQ set to open in early 2023

CTInsider is reporting that the new headquarters of WWE is set to open within the next few months. The article notes, per a WWE spokesperson, in the first phase of operations at the new 707 Washington Blvd location, the company plans to open offices within the downtown property’s 13-story tower “towards the end of” the first quarter of 2023. The remainder of the office and production space in the new building, which will cover about 400,000 square feet, is scheduled to open sometime in mid-2023.

It was further noted WWE plan’s to move all 800 employees to the new HQ in 2023. WWE is not planning to keep any employees at its current headquarters location of 1241 E. Main St., or at the company’s production center at 88 Hamilton Avenue, just a few blocks from 1241 E. Main. The new headquarters is also said to be the centerpiece of the revival of the complex at 677-707 Washington Blvd., which stood entirely empty for a couple of years after banking giant UBS relocated its local offices across the street to 600 Washington in 2016. Production space for WWE will be located in a seven-story pavilion, which at one time hosted one of the world’s largest trading floors when UBS was based there.

According to a WWE spokesperson, the current headquarters is not for sale, but WWE would “entertain discussions with interested parties.” WWE is relocating as revenues are up by 19 percent during the 2022 third quarter to about $305 million. However, a decline in quarterly profits reflected close to $18 million in costs related to the board of directors investigation into alleged misconduct by former CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon, who announced his retirement in July 2022. Stephanie McMahon and and Nick Khan are now CO-CEO’s. Vince still remains the a stockholder with controlling interest.
