MJF Tapes Over CM Punk’s Name On PWI Award, Punk Responds; Note On Sting’s Current AEW Contract

Current AEW World Champion MJF showed off his Pro Wrestling Illustrated awards in an Instagram post. He won Feud of the Year with CM Punk and Most Hated Wrestler of the Year. In the picture, MJF taped over Punk’s name with his own on the plaques.

An hour later, Punk commented on MJF’s Instagram post by saying “Maybe find some tape for the ratings so nobody sees those either.”

Punk and MJF won Feud of the Year with 27% of the vote for the two matches they had in 2022. MJF won Most Hated Wrestler of the year with 49% of the vote.

Note on Sting’s current AEW contract

AEW star Sting’s spoke with D Magazine, in article that was published on Thursday. He said that his current contract with AEW is up “sometime this year.”

The 63-year-old also said that whatever he does, he want’s wrestling fans to say, “That was incredible.” He went on to say that he doesn’t want fans to walk away and say. “That was embarrassing.” I just want it to be a great memory and then to just finally, once and for all, say, adios.”

The article also noted that Sting’s daughter-in-law, Katelyn is currently training to be a pro wrestler and also works on AEW’s social media team.
