Former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion signs with IMPACT Wrestling; NXT Superstar injured

As first reported by PW Torch, and then confirmed by F4WOnline, former WWE and NXT Superstar Konnor has signed a multi-year deal with IMPACT Wrestling.

The 42-year-old wrestled in WWE from 2010 to 2019 as a member of the Ascension tag team. Konnor and his former tag team partner, Viktor, still hold the record for the longest reign as the WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, holding the belts for 364 days.

In IMPACT, Konnor is known at Big Kon. He was part of the IMPACT television tapings back on January 21. He lost both of his matches. The first match was against IMPACT World Josh Alexander and the second was against Eddie Edwards.

Kon is now part of the new faction The Desig (formerly know as Violent By Design). The faction consists of Deaner, former AEW star Alan Angels, and Sami Callihan. The group, when it was Violent By Design was led by Eric Young. In a storyline to write Young off of IMPACT television, he was killed by Deaner. It has been previously reported that Young is returning to WWE.

Nikkita Lyons injured

The 23-year-old NXT Superstar Nikkita Lyons revealed Wednesday on Instagram she has suffered a torn ACL and meniscus. She last wrestled on an episode of Level Up that was taped back on January 17.

NXT did an angle on Tuesday night’s show, which was likely done as a way to write her television. She was another victim in a parking lot attack angle during the show.

Lyons had suffered a partial MCL tear in last May, in which she was forced out of competing in the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament. However, that injury did not require surgery. She would return to in-ring action just a month later.
