UFC Hall of Famer to lead ESPN’s coverage of WWE WrestleMania 39

UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier told Sports Illustrated that he is going to WrestleMania 39 to lead ESPN’s coverage of the two-night event. Cormier current works for ESPN as a mixed martial arts analyst. He also told SI that while he is open to wrestling, his priority right now is his media job with ESPN.

SI also noted that interviews with WWE talent might be part of Cormier’s WrestleMania media role. He joked about smacking Brock Lesnar if Lesnar tries to step up to him.

The 43-year-old Cormier appeared for WWE as the special guest referee for the Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins Fight Pit match at Extreme Rules in Philadelphia last October.

WrestleMania 39 will take place on April 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. The event will stream in the United States on Peacock and WWE Network everywhere else.
