Former MITB winners recount briefcase travel stories

A new video on the WWE channel on YouTube shows former winners of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match being reunited with their briefcases, giving stories of how they went about traveling with the case as a carry-on where necessary.

Notable stories include Sheamus recalling just how heavy the briefcase really is, saying he needed to buy a special suitcase just to carry it around, along with he and Austin Theory recounting the use of the briefcase to hold their gear.

In the video, Baron Corbin and Seth Rollins recounted making good use of the briefcase to hold personal belongings such as their wallet, keys, and in Rollins’s case his iPad.

On the flip side of this, The Miz recounts never using the briefcase for more than just carrying the contract that would help him get to a WWE Championship opportunity in 2010, though he make note of the conversations he enjoyed having surrounding the briefcase and what it meant at the time.

Bayley and Asuka were also interviewed for the video, but neither extensively traveled with the briefcase they had; Bayley cashed her opportunity in on the same night to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship, whereas Asuka won the briefcase during the COVID-19 pandemic and was immediately gifted the RAW Women’s Championship due to Becky Lynch taking maternity leave.

A new set of challengers will have their opportunity to win the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches at the annual Premium Live Event of the same name on Saturday, July 1, from the O2 Arena in London, England.
