Former WCW star arrested, releases statement

On July 13, Marcus “Buff” Bagwell was arrested in Cobb County, Georgia.

According to the official report from the Sheriff’s Office, Bagwell was arrested for speeding and given a court-ordered sanction for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, both of which are misdemeanors.

The former WCW star took to social media to release a statement, clarifying the circumstances under which these charges were filed:

This marks the third offense Bagwell has on his arrest record in the county, following various offenses as far back as 2005 as well as in 2020, as well as various driving-related charges in May 2021.

Since May 2022, Bagwell has been living with Diamond Dallas Page in an effort to overcome the substance abuse issues he had been dealing with over the years.

In addition to being a featured player in WCW, Bagwell had a brief run in WWE in 2001 that culminated in a WCW Championship bout against Booker T on the July 2, 2001 edition of RAW, which would be his only match in the company.
