WWE Superstar returns to in-ring action following injury

Kevin Owens – who is one half of the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, made his return to in-ring action in a dark match at Friday night’s SmackDown at the Scotiabank in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Owens teamed with his fellow tag team partner Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre in a win over Imperium’s Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, after they were about to attack Edge.

The same match from Friday night, was said to have taken place at Saturday night’s WWE Supershow held at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. The finish saw Drew McIntyre hit Gunther with a Claymore kick, Zayn drop Vinci with the Helluva kick and Owens stun Kaiser for the pin and then the win.

Footage was captured by a fan in attendance at Friday night’s SmackDown, with Owens return. The videos are currently available on YouTube and can be seen below.

Back on July 25, we reported that Owens had been competing with a fractured rib. WWE wrote him off of television with angle where he was attacked by Judgment Day as Owens needed time to heal from the injury.

Before Friday night, Owens last match took place back on the July 17 episode of WWE Raw, when he and Zayn successfully defended the tag titles against Damien Priest and Dominik Mysterio.

As of this writing, there are still no updates on when Owens will return to WWE TV programming.
