Speaking on her Twitch stream, WWE Raw Superstar Dakota Kai said that she probably will not be cleared for an in-ring return until January 2024. was asked when she would be returning to in-ring action.
“Probably 2024. I do think it’s funny that a lot of people are like, ‘she’s not injured at all. Look at her walking around.’ ACL injury, I haven’t even learned how to start running and jumping again yet. I think I’m going to start running this week. ACL recovery, especially for someone in sport, we use our legs a lot. If I were a desk worker, I’d be back at work. Because it’s wrestling, I won’t be cleared until January.”
Kai has been out of in-ring action since May with a torn ACL. The injury happened during the Women’s Tag Team Championship Match on the May 12 episode of WWE SmackDown. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were defending the titles against Kai and Bayley. Kai’s injury occurred during a spot where she knew Morgan had been hurt and was trying to protect her.
Kai did make a surprise appearance at last month’s SummerSlam to celebrate with IYO SKY after she cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Bianca Belair, to become the brand new WWE Women’s Champion.
