A report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has indicated that Sheamus, last seen on August 18, is currently dealing with a shoulder injury keeping him out of action.
Meltzer referred to the injury as “really bad” and explained this was why the former WWE Champion has not been on TV or at house shows since facing Edge on the 8/18 edition of SmackDown.
The match, their first singles encounter, celebrated the 25th anniversary of Edge’s WWE debut, and was notably the last on the Rated-R Superstar’s contract.
The injury would also account for Sheamus not appearing alongside the Brawling Brutes of Ridge Holland and Butch, who had a tag team match against Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.
