Top WWE Superstar confirms he has signed a multi-year deal with the company

During an interview with Justin Walker, Cody Rhodes has confirmed previous reports he has signed a multi-year deal with WWE.

The 38-year old Rhodes told Walker the following:

“I can tell you 40 is out of the question just because, not to give you scoop, it was widely reported, but I did sign a new contract with WWEIt extends beyond my 40th birthday. The plan is still, when it’s time to step out, to step out without it being a painful process. Solely because I saw my dad [Dusty Rhodes] as an old man wrestler and he loved it and enjoyed it, but as his son it was hard to see. My daughter is two going on three, there does have to be a time, just like he was with us, where I have to be home all the time and be there with her. It’s not 40 anymore. I’ll update the number. I hit the prime run late in the game. I often forget that I’m nearing 40.”

Rhodes also talked about how he has seen similarities between Marvel’s Infinity Saga and the storyline with the Bloodline and the reasons for the parallels. In addition, Rhodes also discussed his relationship with Make-A-Wish.

You can watch the full interview below:

Rhodes and Seth Rollins will square off against The Rock and Roman Reigns at night one of WrestleMania 40, with Rhodes challenging Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at night two. If The Rock and Reigns come out victorious, then the championship match will be a Bloodline Rules Match, which is essentially a no disqualification match. However, if Rollins and Rhodes win, then The Bloodline is banned from the building.

WrestleMania 40 takes place next Saturday and next Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA. The big two-night event will stream live on Peacock in the United States and on the WWE Network internationally.
