Hello everyone and welcome to the Ring of Honor “Border Wars” Internet PPV recap. Unfortunately, due to issues with ROH’s website this evening, I was not able to watch the iPPV. I was, however, able to get quick results of the show.
So, with that being said, let’s get to them, shall we?
1. Special Challenge Match: “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards defeated “The Man Beast” Rhino w/Truth Martini by pinfall with a roll-up.
2. 6-Man Tag: The All Night Express (Kenny King & Rhett Titus) & “Technical Lightning” T.J. Perkins defeated The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) & “No Fear” Mike Mondo by pinfall when Perkins pinned Matt with a 450 Splash.
3. Grudge Match: Jay Lethal defeated The undefeated “Dominant Male” Tommaso Ciampa w/The Embassy Limited by pinfall to end Ciampa’s undefeated streak after 10 backbreakers, followed by the 2nd half of the Lethal Combination.
4. “Showdown in the Sun” Return Match: Lance Storm defeated “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett w/”Brutal” Bob Evans by pinfall after superkicking a steel chair into Bennett’s face that Bennett had brought into the ring.
Intermission
5. Battle of the Break-Out Stars: “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin w/Truth Martini defeated Adam Cole by pinfall with the 360* Powerbomb.
6. Ring of Honor Television Title: Roderick Strong (c) defeated “The Belfast Bruiser” Fit Finlay by pinfall to retain the title with the Sick Kick.
7. Fight Without Honor for the Ring of Honor Tag Team Titles: Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) defeated “The Baddest Tag Team on the Planet” #DemBoys The Briscoes (Jay & Mark) (c) to win the titles after Haas choked out Mark with a towel soaked in chloroform.
8. Main Event for the Ring of Honor World Title (The piledriver ban is lifted, Steen’s only title shot): “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare” Kevin Steen w/ “The Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs defeated “American Wolf” Davey Richards (c) by pinfall to win the title with the Package Piledriver.
After the match, Ring of Honor founder, Cary Silkin, who usually hands the title to the new champion, instead walked out in disgust. Then, Steve Corino, who was at ringside doing color commentary, came into the ring & hugged Steen & Jacobs to close the show.
I apologize for not being able to do a detailed recap & post-show of this iPPV, but due to the issues with Ring of Honor’s website, I just wasn’t able to do it.
Thanks to ROHWorld.com for the results.
Thank you all for reading and have a good weekend!
