The family Steve “Mongo” McMichael has provided a health update on the former Chicago Bear and the former WCW star.
His family posted a statement on social media saying that Steve is currently getting a blood transfusion and has MRSA. McMichael’s family went on to ask for prayers to get him through this difficult time, and that McMichael, his family and close friends believe in the power of prayer.
McMichael, who diagnosed with ALS in 2021, was hospitalized on February 15 with what was believed to be pneumonia.
McMichael was formally announced as a member of the the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024. The Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony is set for Saturday, August 3 in Canton, Ohio.
