After going dormant for nearly five years, the official social media account of Lucha Underground made a new post teasing the brand’s future.
The account previously promoted AAA Invading New York, a special event aired on Lucha Underground’s former home network El Rey in November 2019.
Lucha Underground ran from October 2014 through November 2018 to highly positive reviews from fans in its four seasons.
Elements of the brand resurfaced in MLW, culminating in the Azteca Underground event on April 1, 2022.
AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide, which was affiliated with Lucha Underground during its television run, was acquired by WWE in April 2025.
