TNA President Dixie Carter and TNA staff member Bob Ryder both issued tweets on Monday afternoon saying that negotiations between TNA and Spike TV remain ongoing. A report by TMZ late Sunday night stated that Spike TV made the decision to not renew Impact Wrestling when the deal expires in October.
A report by The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online stated that Carter held a meeting with staff on Friday where she said the company was leaving Spike TV on their “own volition” due to a lack of promotion. Other sources have stated that this is not the case and that Spike TV informed the company that would not be renewing the deal.
When reached for comment, Spike TV told Wrestleview.com: “Per Viacom company policy – we don’t comment on ongoing negotiations.”
