WWE reportedly not granting Mustafa Ali his request to be released

According to Fightful Select, WWE is not going to grant Mustafa Ali his release.

Ali took to Twitter this past Sunday and publicly asked WWE for his release.

Also, according to the report, WWE and Ali have been in communication as Ali was told by the company he would not be granted his release. It was also noted that Ali has years left on his current contract. In addition, the report from Fightful stated the term value was mentioned or brought up several times in discussions between Ali and WWE .

The Fightful report noted that the term “value” was brought up a lot in their discussions, although there were not any specifics.

Mustafa Ali was last seen on the October 29, 2021 episode of WWE SmackDown where he squared off Drew McIntyre, and lost. Ali then took time off shortly after for paternity leave as he and his wife welcomed his third child in November of 2021.

There has also been several reports that Ali has been off television due to an argument between himself and Vince McMahon over the creative direction of his character.
