According to a report by Fightful Select notes that the chances of Alberto Del Rio ending up back in WWE is next to impossible even under the new-led Triple H regime. According to a WWE higher-up, per the report, there were “never any serious conversations or pitches to bring Del Rio back” even under Vince McMahon. Reportedly, the conversations Del Rio had with John Laurinaitis at the time, were more about him [Del Rio] “gauging possible interest for himself than back and forth discussions and negotiations.”
Fightful Select also has said a WWE source could also not remember Del Rio’s name ever being brought up “for a possible Royal Rumble entry in previous years” and further added key people in WWE management were not keen on Del Rio well before he left WWE back in 2016.
The report concluded with the same WWE higher-up telling Fightful Select when asked about Del Rio coming back to the company – “There’s no f—-ing way that happens.”
