According to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE Superstar AJ Styles reportedly had the idea of traveling to Japan for Wrestle Kingdom 17, which took place back on January 4.
The report notes that Styles’ idea was that he would go as support for Karl Anderson for his IWGP NEVER Openweight Championship Match against Tama Tonga. It was further said the reason Styles not traveling was due to his broken ankle. However, Rocky Romero said during the Wrestlings Perspective podcast that if NJPW had called Styles, he would have traveled to the show.
The report concluded by saying that it was also up to NJPW to make the call to Luke Gallows to travel to the show.
