Advertising for the match between Becky Lynch and Zoey Stark had been pulled prior to the 7/10 edition of RAW, but the match ended up taking place all the same.
Any questions as to why this was the case were given some form of answer at the ESPYs, as Becky herself revealed to media that she was not medically cleared to compete until the day of due to a cyst removal procedure that week:
“When I landed from London, I had to go to the ER and had to get a cyst removed. Then had to get that redone on Friday, but was in the ring, fine, ready to go by Monday.”
The match between Becky and Stark is one more step on the road to a planned bout between Lynch and Trish Stratus at SummerSlam, set for August 5 at Ford Field in Detroit.
