Goldberg’s WrestleMania 36 opponent reportedly revealed, more details on Roman Reigns

Goldberg's new opponent

SPOILERS for SmackDown and WrestleMania 36 below.

Due to Roman Reigns deciding against competing at WrestleMania 36 out of an abundance of caution for his health due to COVID-19 (he is immunocompromised from bouts with leukemia), WWE Universal Champion Goldberg has been left without an opponent.

According to a new report by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, Goldberg’s new opponent will be Braun Strowman. This will be set up on tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

WrestleMania 36 has already been taped. The tapings took place on Wednesday and Thursday with Orange County enacting a “stay at home” order, which began Thursday at 11 p.m. ET. Reigns was at the Performance Center, but decided against doing his match. The Usos were reportedly unhappy that The Miz arrived sick, which led to Reigns deciding against performing.

We will continue to follow this story as more develops. We will have live coverage of SmackDown tonight beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 Central.
