Rey Mysterio expected to re-sign with WWE, AEW also makes offer

According to F4WOnline, Rey Mysterio is expected to re-sign with WWE.  However, it is not confirmed Mysterio has officially signed a new contract yet.

We reported last month that the 45-year Mysterio was currently working for WWE without a current contract.

According to the same report, AEW also made an offer that is equal to WWE’s per-match offer, but the offer from WWE was higher because it included more dates.  It is also being said the length Mysterio’s expected new WWE contract is unknown.  However, the report also indicates that the new contract would be “considerably longer than the previous 18 month deal, but not the five-years or longer deals that WWE has tried to get everyone on.”

The future of Mysterio’s son, Dominik, was said to be a big part of the decision.  The 23-year-old will make at SummerSlam against Seth Rollins.

Mysterio is currently out of action in storyline for an eye injury he suffered at the hands of Seth Rollins at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, in what is being said is a way of protecting WWE if he doesn’t re-sign.
